Girona maps

You will get fantastic maps at the Girona tourist information - very helpful, indeed!
But if you try to figure out where your accomodation is and you are arriving late, or you just feel like getting acquainted to Girona beforehand - here is a helpful link on Girona maps.
Tourist office.

Here at the tourist office in Girona they were very helpful. They gave me very valuable information and provided me with maps and information brochures about Girona. They also told me where I could sleep, and thank to them I found my hostel.
They also offer free computer and they are very helpful to find buslines to Andorra, in my case she helped me a lot here in the tourist office.
Celrà - LA FABRICA ****

INDUSTRIAL ARCHITECTURE
If you have a car and you plan to visit Ampurdan (road to La Bisbal) you can stop at Celrà where it is a nice factory restored.
They use the building for a dance school.
Inside it is a restaurant, the menú is quite good, simple but tasty: also a Library.
Very nice people and atmosphere!!!
You also see the buildings from the train (Portbou-bcn)...
Ryan Air...
by Malecka
as I heard, recently Ryan Air opened a line to Girona. And I think that German Wings fly there as well. So... instead of an expensive ticket to Barcelona, take a plane to Girona.
As for.. AROUND the town:
PLEASE, YOUR FEET are the only transportation you need.
Basic, honest food

UPDATE: BAD NEWS, YESTERDAY (OCT 26, 2008) WE WENT TO GIRONA AND FOUND THIS PLACE CLOSED, IT LOOKED AS PERMANENLTLY CLOSED. WHAT A SHAME... :(
I'M NOT YET REMOVING THIS TIP, JUST IN CASE THEY RE-OPEN, OR I GET MORE INFO
I found this place by chance, when looking for something else. In fact is not a restaurant, is a book store and it looks they organize concerts, art exhibitions... But it has a little cafe in the back. Basic lunch menu for 10.50 euros. More than enough if you just need something to eat, and don't want to be screwed at the many tourist traps nearby. The menu was only in Catalan, so a phrasebook may be helpful. I took this (no multilingual menus at the door, no one trying to attract our attention...) as a good sign, and both my friend and myself left the place quite satisfied (provided the price!!) and thinking we would not mind to return next time we're visiting Girona.
