Unique Quality: This hotel is a good choice if your flight back is early in the morning (as often happens with low-cost airline companies).
It has self-service bar/restaurant opened from 7 am to 10.30 pm.
We paid € 91 for a triple room and some more for the breakfest at the bar.
Directions: Just before Girona - Costa Brava Airport (on the left).
Hotel Vilobi Park is a 2 star hotel a couple of minutes walk from Girona airport, with 180 rooms.
It is a no frills hotel, very conveniently located. The rooms were clean and comfortable, we had a a passable evening meal, cant ask for much else. Yes it is noisy with travelers coming and going at all times of the day & night, but what do you expect? It isnt in a town or a resort, no one hangs around more than a day.
Bar open from 07.00 a.m. to 22.30 p.m.
Lunch served: From 12.30 p.m. to 16.00 p.m.
Dinner served: From 07.00 p.m. to 22.30 p.m.
It was 70 euros plus tax for 2 persons.
If you have to park a car it is 60 cents and hour up to a maximum of 6 eruos for the whole day.
Unique Quality: We arrived at 9pm and were leaving to drive to France the next morning. So instead of starting the hire car on the night we arrived, we saved a days hire and car parking charges by picking it up the next morning.
Staff friendly & helpful.
Directions: Walk out of the airport building, straight down the road to the Hotel.
I'm going speak about this hotel because once I was been happily surprised in finding it outside the airport while I was - sadly - planning to sleep in its unconfortables seats.
Probably lots of you have had a hub in Girona Airport travelling with Ryan air so....
Hotel's website is http://www.hotelvilobi.com/
They speak spanish at the phone but also reply to e-mails in good english.
Reception is open all night but you'd better reserve your room in advance
It costs 40euro (single room)
60 euro (double room)
Directions: Go to the airport automatic door, go out and look at your left, you'll surely see it
Is there any campsites near Girona airport - can anyone help me on this ?
Thanks in advance Patrick
Most campings are closer to the coast (Costa Brava) but it seems to be one that's fairly close to the airport: Camping Can Toni Manescal. It has a website
http://www.campinggirona.com/ but it says it opens in June.
I've stayed once in the hotel that's next to the airport for a very early flight. It wasn't cheap nor expensive, I'd said fairly priced. It's the Hotel Vilobi Park.
Camping Las Dunas. Brilliant place.
