Transfers

by ladyinred01

I have booked a trip with my sister we have 2 kids. We need to get from the airport in Gerona at around 19.40hrs on friday evening on Jun 12th. Is it easy to get a bus into Estartit from the airport? The charges with the travel company were very expensive but we are a bit concerned that we may have difficulty getting to Estartit.

Re: Transfers

There is a regular bus (coach) service from Girona itself to Estartit:

http://www.ampsa.org/eng/serveis_regulars.html

You should be able to catch the 21:15 bus, arriving 22.15.

lists all bus services from the airport.

alternatively check out prices on resorthoppa

we used that service to Pineda de Mar and a return trip cost us 33quid-=ish for two

it will be dearer than the local bus service leics quoted but you may well get off just after your plane lands and will drop you as near to your hotel as possible - and they arrange to pick up in time for check in for your plane home

just another avene to explore
Hope you sort something and have a good holiday

Travel Tips for Girona

Great date spots

by bpwillet

If you are visiting for a few days or just on your way through, Girona has a lot to offer. I will say this, if you get the opportunity to live here for a while, it is not lacking in the "great date spots" category. There are so many great places for picnics and small areas to sit and talk. I love that this city has so much to offer.

Drinking your wine with the Poron

by listenandlearn

Here is a photo of a friend who would only drink his wine from a poron. It is indeed a very interesting custom and ways...makes it so more interesting. Whether you are just visiting the city or just moving in or even just a passerby... YOU ALL GOT TO TRY IT!!! It´s so much fun trying drinking your wine from a poron and not from a wine glass. Please try it and as they say do as the locals do and you will all understand how much fun it may be. CHEERS TO EVERYONE OUT THERE!

Fantastic Acoustics

by Naprous

The gorgeous deconsecrated church of Sant Pere des Galligants (now an archeological museum) has splendid acoustics for a capella medieval music. If you're there all by yourself (as we were), practice your Hildegard of Bingen!

Bus Airport - Girona

by KiNyA

Each 60 minutes there is a bus going from Girona - Costa Brava Airport to Girona city (12 km apart). The buses start to drive at 4:30 and depart each 60 minutes (5:30, 6:30 ... 22:30, 23:30) until 0:30.

The bus arrives at Girona Bus Station at Placa Jaume Vicens Vives.

One-way ticket for a half-hour drive costs € 2,30, but If you plan to go back home from Girona airport I recommend you to buy return ticket which costs € 4,40.

Paella for your Birthday

by tini58de

This cozy place was the perfect spot for the two of us to celebrate my birthday. People were very friendly, sometimes bilingual (the other times we tried sign language...) and the food was quite good!!! We had this fabulous menue for my birthday:

- fish salad - or - melon with bacon
- paella!!!
- lemon sorbet - or - vanilla flan with caramel

bread, water and wine to go along with the menue!
