When I was in Geneva I found in a flea market a very nice brochure of this "small rural hostel". I was surprise because it was close to my city. This is because the have often swiss guests as Eric is Swiss.
Now I know some friend of the owners, but the owners not yet. I have listen they are very nice ;-)
Big garden in the middle of a village.
Quiet and peaceful.
More than 100 places where to sleep at an afordable price.
Nice located, fax, internet, books, information, …
Not so bad.
The restaurant I really don't recomend it. It only costs 5 Euros but it rememberss me my school … I prefer a sandwich at the KEBBAB, just at the entrance.
Prices for > 25 in August 2003:

FONDA HOSTAL CAN TONI
T 972 205101, ctra. Sant Gregori, 10 - 17007 Girona
All are typical Spanish "pensión" (hostel)
17004 is the district of the old town.
They usually don't offer lunch.
Go there in the morning, soon. They don't have lots of rooms!
Usually VISA is not accepted.
I recomend Pensió CAN COLL (Carrer Hortes) or Hostal LLORET (Plaça Independència). They have a menú like twenty years ago ;-)
Also the furniture and bathrooms are "old".
You eat 3 dishes and dessert, wine, water, and bread included. About 7-8 Euros.

I have still never been sleeping in the Hotel, I just visited the outside and I was fascinated.
All is so cute, so well arranged, so imaginative that you seem to be in a fairy tale. This is not real, it is like to be a child again.
I have been twice at the small and UNIQUE restaurant COMEDOR VERDOR. I love it.
If I win the lotery I will stay one week at LINDOS HUESPEDES!
- Very spacious rooms and areas in a huge house (rice mill) .
- very good decoration and arrangments
- lovely garden very well arranged
-all details are perfect
- lots of extras, like bikes, kitchen, …
- the area has a lot of offers: landscapes, the sea, art galleries, restaurants
Extraordinary experience of living something unique, artistic, imaginative,
Better to go off season (spring, september, october, ...)
If you cannot afford it please try at least the restaurant, BUT always make a reservation.
Ok, so this isn't exactly in Girona city, but it's only about a 10 minute drive from the city center, in the direcction of Sant Gregori. I must say that this place is WONDERFUL. The house is about 500 years old, very nicely decorated, but the best of all is the nice and quiet atmosphere, mainly thanks to the owner. There is not a lot of things around the house (well, it is rural after all!), so it's handy, or in fact necessary to have a car to go around. There are 5 regular rooms and 6 suites. I stayed in a regular room, because the suites are (of course) a bit more expensive, and since I wanted to stay there for a few days it was more affordable. In any case the room was very nicely decorated, with airco, and a nice jacuzzi in the bathroom! There is a small garden where you can sunbathe and relax in the summer, with an outside jacuzzi that you can use as often as you like, and also a BBQ that you can use if you want to. I have also heard that the suites are quite impressive, and there's even one with a swimmingpool inside!
If you want a different place to replax for a couple of days this is a great choice, and I only have good things to say about it!
When I went there there was this special offer, and with the room we got fresh fruit and a bottle of cava every day!
Situated in the middle of the old quarter, the location of this hostel is fantastic. We stayed for a night, and it cost EU$19 per person, for a 5-bed room. Free sheets and blankets are provided and there is breakfast as well! The staff was really friendly and helpful. However, we were given a room next to the bathroom and it was very noisy throughout the night as when people are using the bathroom and toilets.
Great location. They are part of a chain of student hostels throughout the country.
We just returned doing a bit of touring some friends in Girona and took a listing of accommodations in Girona.

We hope one of these many listing will help our VTér (s) friends. We were a group of 8 people and we stayed at this hotel called Meliá Girona which cost us for every 3 people a room costs (no breakfast) 125.19 Euros. NIce, clean hotel. They have a bus that takes guests to the very centre of the city free of charge. Which is quite recommendable.
You can stay at Hotel Bulevard, it is very near of the beach, shops, and cafes...
You can also choose to rent an appartment... for more details view this page:
We booked this from booking.com and got a good price. We got e-mails from the staff anyway (I mean even if we didn´t book straight from them) and they spoke good English and were very helpfull! I think we would use them again, if we would go to Girona again.
Only things missing were a good knife to cut the bread and something to boil the tea water! There was only a huge kettle and an espresso pan. A water boiler or a small kettle would have been nice! Shower was quite small also.
The balcony was actually a French window.. Our neighbour did have a balcony.
Location! Helpfull staff close to aprtments, like a hotel reception without needing to stay in hotel ( i don´t really like to stay in hotel).

Olga and Javi are a friendly couple that run this small b&b. You can check out the rooms in images and prices.
Architect Rafael Masó designed this building.
Right in the centre of the old town, in La Rambla. A very nice place to stay.
Centric (can't be more!)
Feels like home
