by danielinnz Stay in an ancient hilltop castle. The Paradors are located throughout Spain offering a chance to stay in historic buildings. I stayed in the one at Cardona about 1 hour from Barcelona.

"our" house by tessy We rented a nice appartement. What we liked most, was the beautiful garden with the swiming pool. I prefer private appartements. I don't like the big big hotels which you find everywhere at the Coast.

Located right on Las Ramblas this hotel is perfectly positioned should you wish to explore on foot. It also has an underground carpark if you are exploring further afield by car.

View from Room 209, bring your own San Miguel! by danielinnz Located right on the beach at Tamariu with some of the friendliest staff I've ever met :) I can recommend the view from Room 209 :)
Great views!

Freya, Spanish Campsite by freya_heaven This is one of the best sites we have stayed in, the facilites are excellent, there is a pool (which we did not use due to the time of year) and a mini zoo with deer etc, which Freya loved. It is in an ideal position for exploring places like Sitges, Barcelona etc. Although we had our car with us we decided not to take it to Barcelona. You can get a bus from the campsite to the local town, where you can pick up a regular train in to Barcelona itself. In season the campsite offers its own trips to Barcelona They also rent out accommodation here, check out the web site for the latest information. I would definately stay here again.

Playa Tropicana by freya_heaven This was a wonderful place to stay, it was like a tropical garden. You can either bring your own accommodation with you or rent out bungalows or apartments. It is situated next to a beach in a very quiet location, the German owners were lovely, could not do enough to help. The showers & toilets here were just amazingly clean & very well decorated. The only minus point I have about this site is they bizarrely had caged monkeys in one area, pointless & cruel. You can find shelters (locally known as 'refugios) for walkers and climbers around most of popular areas. They're mostly run by mountaineering & walking organizations. Acommodation is often, not always, on a first-come, first-served basis. Prices per person range from zero to 12Eur. Many refugios have a bar and offer meals, as well as cooking area (but not cooking equipment). Blankets & pillows are usually provided.

I worked with Cal Sastre - Janina the landlady is lovely, the rooms are comfortable and filled with antiques and the garden is beautiful. The restaurant near the hotel is also wonderful.

This funky, unique hotel is wonderful for those who love good design. The hotel has a tower and battlements, a wonderful garden (with a nymph in the flowerbed), a lovely terrace, 2 sitting rooms and a library. The staff are amazing (the dog is massive and soppy). It's on one side of the medieval bridge with great views... oh it's just perfect. I was lucky to be given the room 219 was made by Subirach, the present-day well known Spanish artist who finished the Passion Facade in the Sagrada Familia. And also you can find the jewellery works of Lorenzo Queen, the son of Hollywood actor Anthony Quinn. In front of this hotel young people practice surfing almost everyday, summer and winter. It has 65 rooms and nine of them are painted with frescoes in the walls. The more beautiful are room 109 and 219.
Hotel Estela is also called Hotel del Arte. Theme: HotelPrice: US$80-120 » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: Av. Port d’Aiguadolc, s/nPhone: 93 8947918Directions: SitgesWebsite: www.hotelestela.com
