More about Hotel Alexis

Cheap and cheerful

by TripAdvisor Member kezza00

With this hotel you get what you pay for.
We went as four girls in our mid 20's. The food was ok. The rooms small but clean. Most staff were lovely ignoring the snotty receptionist. The location was ideal not right on the noisy strip but close enough to walk to if we wanted to. If you want a 4/5* hotel then book one don't expect one for as little as you would pay to stay at hotel Alexis.

like a youth hostel for alcholics

by TripAdvisor Member cazmitch25

we were told we would be staying in another hotel as ours was not ready the day before we flew out, we arrived at the other hotel to be told we were booked into the alexis, we arrived there at 11.30 pm what a site, it was full of drunks the place resembled a youth hostel, we went to our room which was tiny with 3 beds in, we did not bother unpacking, we tried to sleep but it was so noisy, eventually the police were called and we got to sleep at 5.30am, to be woken at 6.30 by a loud noise which when we opened the curtains turned out to be two large pipes. we got in touch with the help line and were moved out that day to another hotel, we found the experience very traumatic.

The Hotel Is Very Good Value For Money

by TripAdvisor Member dorsetram

We stayed for 6 nights from 30th march till 5th april. The food is perfectly edible and a good variety. We stayed half board but most there were all inclusive on occasions one or two had too much to drink but i did not see or hear of any fights. There was on occasions
a bit of late night noise but this was from people coming back from the night clubs but this was only for a few seconds - but you are at the mercy of the standards of the other guests and if you are unlucky
enough to be next door to a stag party there will be noise but just ask to be moved i am sure the very helpfull staff will look after you. This is very very good value for money we paid £103 for 2adults 1 child and 1 infant half board for all of us - absolute bargain for the easter holiday. Yes the pools are small but you also get 2 jacuzzies and the sea is 200 yards down the hill, guests were mainly couples and families as it was school holidays. The main negative was the smoke in the bar and tv areas they were supposed to be non smoking but ash trays were put out everywhere so the signs actually are rubbish-- when i say it was smokey i cannot under state this, it was thick by the end of the night and there was quite a few kids having to breathe this in, it was like a working mens club in there. But if you smoke you will have a good time if you remember how cheap it is to stay there.

hen party weekend to remember

by TripAdvisor Member markesey

We were a hen party of ten women and I have to say we had the best time, it is a weekend none of us will ever forget. Before we went we read the reviews on this site and were a little apprehensive to say the least. But I'm glad to say we were pleasantly surprised. We arrived late at night and we were greeted by VERY friendly reception staff and I have to say all the reception staff throughout our stay were extremely helpful.

The rooms were clean and quite basic, but we had no intention of spending very long in them so that was fine. The food in the restaurant was adequate, not very exciting but good enough to feed any hangover!!

The staff in the restaurant were a little miserable and grunted at you but the head waiter did try to sort any problems out for you. After all we were 10 noisey women looking like bunny rabbits!!! I wouldn't recommend this hotel as a family hotel but it was perfect for what we wanted it for- a hen weekend for 10 women who were intent
on having a good time!!!

Brilliant time

by TripAdvisor Member mandys63

My friend and i read all the coments on this web site and we thought we were in for a nightmare, we were very wrong. We had a great time with loads of friendly people.

Most of the staff were fine. The bar staff were fantastic fun( Anthony, Juan, Alex). The food was ok . Typical Spanish hotel buffet food.

The rooms were basic and the view from our balcony was not so good, the back of a closed hotel. but they were very clean.

The Pool is very small although we did not use it , can imagine in the summer it being a pain.

The roof terrace had a nice bar and was a perfect sun trap.

The hotel is about 5 mins walk from the beach and all the night life.

I think this hotel is suited to hen partys stag nights and young groups.

I loved the place!

by TripAdvisor Member emerald123

A holiday is what you make of it, and sure this hotel had a naff swimming pool but there was always the sea which was a few minutes walk down the road. I found the staff excellent especially the bar staff and the hotel rep who always had a smile for you they really made me fell welcome and bent over backwards to sort you out.

I met loads of great people in this hotel, probably some friends for life ok everyone was seriously drunk (so was i lol) but there was no fighting or anything going off!

Want to say a big hello to Johnny Vegas and his gang and hope Leo got home safe and sound xxx

well, apart from the 5 burglaries in our 1st and last week...

by TripAdvisor Member Dave_harker

well, there was five of us, on a family holiday. when we arrived, i thought it seemed a nice place, after our first night we heard of a break-in in someones room, who were on the 2nd floor. i thought this was a bit dodgey because we were all on 1st floor in two seperate rooms. the view from our room was of an old hotel which i found out has been there, abandoned, for over ten years. on our last day, after returning from breakfast, me and my girlfreind were shocked to find our patio window had been smashed, upon further investigation, we also found that my brothers room, next door and the rooms after his had also been broken into. luckily my brother only had his phone stolen, and when my window was broken a man from the floor above heard and shouted so the robber cleared off. but the people living in the other room which got burgled, had all their money stolen, jewellery and mobile phones. we were all insured which obviously helps, but after that experience and knowing that the thieves have been living in that abandoned hotel, and watching our movements was very disturbing. after the hotel having reports of previous robberies, i thought that they could of atleast put in some security measures to prevent this again. i dont think this hotel will be first on my list next year!!

Totally unacceptable

by TripAdvisor Member BrushNorthernIreland

This is no place for young or old. I cried from arrived at this hotel until we got moved. The bar was full of drunk people from morning til night even if you could sleep the noise would keep you awake. Our balcony had missing tiles and we could see the ground and we were on the fourth floor how could you expect anyone let alone children to stay here. The pool if thats what you could call it resembled a large dirty puddle the roof top pool was a large bucket and the surrounding area was covered in broken glass. The view if thats what you could call it was a deralict hotel full of rubbish. The one and only thing would fix this hotel is for it to be DEMOLISHED and rebuilt. I booked this holiday as a surprise for my sons and my parents and yes it certainly was a surprise!!!!!!!!!! And the lady before is correct the staff were fine until you complained. No not ever stay in the Alexis hotel.

dont believe everything you read !!!!!!!!

by TripAdvisor Member indiadaisy

Before our stay we read endless reviews on this hotel and the thought of taking my 23month old daughter was troubling us all but we had a lovely time and basically you get what you pay for the food was fine we all ate well everything was fresh and clean and i didnt need to reheat anything !!!!YES the pools were small and the baby pool freezing but my daughter played on the roof terrace and there were no signs of broken glass as you were only allowed plastic up there and the staff very vigilant about it!!!There were some rooms broken into and this can happen anywhere the answer is get a safety deposit box and dont leave anythig valuable lying around!!!the staff were fantastic to us all especially my daughter and i would consider returning in the future just the 2 of us !!

ok but maybe i was lucky

by TripAdvisor Member maddy1970

we booked on a football tourament holiday .after reading the other reviews i was not looking forward to this trip, but i found good things and bad things about this hotel.
we had our room on the 2 nd floor dead end wing of the hotel which backed onto the closed down hotel (get a safe)so we had very little people traffic in the corridor and our nieghbours were a old couple so i didnt hear any noise at night.others on our trip did though the rooms were kept spotless .we had no vent like other reviewers in thier bathroom so we had no noise from that.the food was ok and ate pretty much every-thing there salads fresh, good variety, but im not a fussy sod like other reviewers, staff friendly,
the bar was great and never too busy that you had to wait more than 2 mins to get served and was no more louder than any bar anywhere else and we saw no trouble at all .the bar on the roof was great and although there was no big pool only a small one in the hotel shade our 3 kids spent ages going from the 2 jakussis to the 12 foot round pool as we didnt spend all day there we went to the casino royale to use thier pool occasionally or beach others in our group didnt like the hotel/food/pools but i didnt mind but then my holiday is about having a good time with mates, less about food/room size/views
