Dont expect to sleep at this hotel

The Hotel Samba, where do i begin.....
This hotel should be demolished, and leave only the victory pub (the english bar downstairs) standing. The hotel was awful. I went on a self-catering basis and the room was adequetly sized, however, the walls are rediculously thin. Every night me and my girlfriend would be up till gone 5am because of either the person snoring next door, the person above playing musical chairs or the screaming children running around the hallways. And if it isn't the people inside the hotel keeping you awake it will be the scooters and drunken domestics outside the hotel that you can hear as clear as a whistle. Even with the doors to the balcony closed! (I would like to point out i was on the third floor out of six which i consider to be farily high up).
On the good side however, The victory pub downstairs is in a league of tis own, Russ (The Blade) the entertainer was fantastic, always keeping the crowd entertained and with fun and games going on well into the early hours. Also if your flying with thomas cook / sunset / JMC look out for Andy (possibly the nicest and most helpfull rep there is).
Also if staying in lloret the the Orient Express on the main beach front is highly recommended!
Not THAT bad!

Recently stayed at he Samba Hotel in Lloret. After reading some of the reviews on here i was mortified & didnt sleep for 2 nights before going away.
O.k, so there was a bit of a hike up the stairs to get to the All inclusive bar, the rooms were so small we had to walk sidways to get from the bathroom to the balcony & the food was absolutly disgraceful but all in all it wasnt anywhere as bad as i thought it was going to be. It was clean & i found MOST of the staff pleasant enough....beware of the spanish looking security guard who isnt actually spanish at all but born & bread English & understood everything we said!!!!!! which was quite amusing when he let us in on it!!!
Not suitable for disabled people due to the stairs from the hotel down to the pool (no lift!). The hotel seemed to be very popular with the older spanish generation which was probably not a good move by our travel company to stick 18 scousers on a hen weekend in there with them all! But other than all of that it wasnt so bad, but i wouldnt stay there again! If you have booked all inclusive in this hotel, bit of advice.......... take extra money because you will need to eat out as the food is NOT edible!
dont bother mainly for spanish pensioners

bad food bad hotel bad entertainment well actually not for the spanish they loved it as it was all for them. we wernt allowed to join in the games as it was for spainish only.no wheelchair or pushchair access to pool which we did need.no bar by pool or drinks u had to climb 40 steps to get back up to bar to get drinks or u could pay in the one there which wasnt included in the package.
room were ok if there was just two of you but we had three beds squashed into a tiny room. food was was awful every day and if there was left overs from night before u got it for breakfast they do not cater for children. alcohol was just the cheap stuff and u cant have cocktails or brand name alcohol. Snack bar was same everyday but i didnt chance eating it cos it was left there all day for u to help urself from 10 in the morning to 11at night so beware
hated it from start to finish and cudnt wait to get home the worst holiday i have ever had
Not for Brits abroad, but that's a good thing!

This Hotel has all the makings of a good hotel...perhaps 20 years ago. The reviews I read before going had some valid points. The walls are thin, so take ear plugs, as I did. The bathroom in our first allotted room was in poor condition; but we were moved the same day to one that was better, but not an excellent standard. The staff we found polite and helpful and spoke good English, The Brits staying there we found vulgar and offensive. We only went into the Victory pub once, and then enjoyed the entertainment supplied in the lounge, upstairs. This was mostly aimed at the many elderly Spaniards staying there, but was very pleasant(please note, I am neither Spanish nor elderly!) The hotel is on the top of a steep hill, but otherwise well placed for the centre of Lloret, which was sprawling and busy; a lovely atmosphere, although I would never visit in season when the young take over the resort. My one complaint is that as a vegetarian, I could find nothing to eat either in or out of the hotel, unless I ate the junk food on offer everywhere or from the salad bar in the hotel! Even the pasta and rice had meat in on the buffet! And not a piece of fruit available at breakfast! For anyone who is going there and is concerned about the last comment, there is an excellent veggie restaurant in the town called'Vegetus', which was the best food we ate all week! In all, the hotel provided good accommodation for the price we paid. We expected slightly better, but it was bearable, apart from the noise at night. It may help if the management put signs up asking guests to be quiet in the corridors at night.
Dont stay here

We went to the Samba 17th to24th of May to start with there is no way this is a 3 star hotel the rooms were ok the cleaners did a good job. It is a shame about the entertainment and the food . There was no entertainment through the day for the children .All they catered for was the elderly spanish you could not join in with the bingo or the quizes because it was all in spanish that what it was like at night all spanish dancing and the entertainers were spanish
THE FOOD The only word i can descibe it with is disgusting it was not fit for a dog
Breakfast was fishfingers or spring rolls rock hard fried eggs under cooked bacon cold beans boiled sausages or little spicey sausages toast or foriegn cereal.
LUNCH Salad cold soup or under cooked chicken with cold mashed potatoes.
TEA Pork but it wasnt it turned out to be liver cold hard chips very underdone chicken still pink in the middle and cold veg. W e went all inclusive the bar area is huge but if you went all inclusive you had to use the side hatch and the drinks were given to you in plastic beakers .
We have done all inclusive for the last 6 years twice a year and this is the worst we have ever come across by a long way.
P.S. We are not fussy peaple but i would like to point all this out before some unfortate family book it. Dont go here keep looking

Don't know the hotel but as to the resort of Lloret, it depends what you want of a place. It is many years since I was there but it was very touristy then. If you like plenty of activities, English bars etc. you will have a great time. I tfollows very closely to the travel agents brochures so "what you sees is what you gets" but have a great holiday and you will love the beaches.
As far as food goes, you should be able to everything from Spanish to English quite easily.

i stayed there in sep 2004 it was lovley clean hotel, food was average, superb views, great pool and brillaint bar called victory bar.rooms actually a lot smaller than we thought they would be. staff helpful and friendly the only thing i could fault the hotel for is not having enough kids entertainment during the day. the resort itself is beautiful clean and very enjoyable. the hotel is about 5 mins walk from town centre at the top of a quite steep hill we stayed there for 2 weeks and enjoyed every minuite of it. i would definatly recommed this hotel to anyone.

I have been to the Samba twice. The hotel is quite a walk up a steep hill from Lloret Centre it lies between Lloret and Fenals. The hotel is lovely clean and spacious. There is an english bar down in the basement which is great and has happy hour every evening. The food however at the hotel leaves a lot to be desired. It was so bad the second time that we ate out most of the time.
