Fanals Park: Room without a view
Very basic self-catering studio apartment sleeps 4, with supposed terrace/balcony and sea view, non existent balcony and sea view unless you can see through walls or had the very end apartment. Attractive complex, not too bad location although quite noisy during night , clean and tidy, maid service is only once a week, bath towels were not provided and the maids were light fingered when we were there. Transfer time from airport 45 mins. Bunk beds in entrance hall, double sofa bed in lounge. Hob with 2 rings and small fridge not bad location for shops, nightlife, beach and buses were fairly regular, nice pool and gardens but this was locked at 8pm each evening.
If you want a really cheap basic accommodation ideally situated then this is probably suitable but remember it is basic.

Hotel Saba: Is it still here ???
I stayed here with my parents in 1972, so i wouldn't know if it's still here. What i do remember was a waitress who did a lot of crying when she was yelled at in the kitchen.
We felt sorry for here and we did even wrote here when we got back home. Another memory is the drowning of a kid in the pool...
These are memories which has really impacted me because i still can recall them and i was just 3 years old then....

Situated where the main central street meets the beach is the best as location.

Camping Ground Lloret: My worst night
My stay was awful. Although the facilities were more or less ok, I could not sleep at all, because all around everybody was partying and doing - I even don' know what. Loud music, singings and so on. And no security at all. That was not my best night, people, really.
The second time I came here, I took a hotel. It was much more expensiv, but worth the moneyspending!

Cheap as for the fatal competition
Llorett de Mar, as well as many other villages around the Costa's have only few inhabitants in the low season and become mayor towns in the summermonths of July and August. The amount of hotelrooms exceeds many times the amount of inhabitants, that even often flea the village when the masses come (that's why you do not find so many Spanish here during summer). Still, positive side is that this killing competition keeps prices low for still quiet nice rooms and appartments. Sad is however that only very few offer Spanish atmosphere or even some local traditions and recepies on the menu.
