Stayed here on a package deal (Low Cost Holidays) for my friend's Hen party for three nights this July. It was a very hot (and stormy) week and the hotel lived upto all our expectations. Only criticism would be the rooms and space within them, which with three hungover bodies might freak some people out come daybreak. It really depends on how you feel about such things. Working bathrooms and individual balconies (and BBC One) made it a home from home, and a pleasant view over the hotel's pool, complex and down to the old town and beach.
A recurring comment throughout the week (in our party of 17 that was very well catered for I must add - even in a range of sometimes shocking and eyebrow raising fancy dress) was that the Selvamar felt like it must've been the best around in the Seventies ... ... and hasn't really altered since. This gave it a nice retro-feel, especially as the outdoor bar kicked up the tunes at six in the afternoon.
Unique Quality: Bubbly barmen and a pleasant walk away from the old town and beach. It is the first time I have used any of the sports facilities in a hotel and tried squash for the first time with a friend. Even had a dip in the jacuzzi and enjoyed cold draught beer, fruits and sandwiches throughout the day as well as the buffet breakfast which I proudly wolfed down me three very very sick days running.
I can see this place not being for everyone, but for our party and our age group, it was a really good base from which to explore Lloret de Mar.
