Hotel Papi review and resort
Have stayed at most of the Malgrat and Santa Susanna Hotels usually via Ferris coach at reasonable cost compared to attempting a DIY with flight etc approximately saving up to 70% so long as you don't mind the 24 hours coach trip!! Having said that flight delays, cancellations etc are in my opinion much worse.
Have also easyjetted to Barcelona and caught the train down to Malgart the same day at very reasonable cost.
The Hotel Papai although BASIC in accommodation ( I only need a room for sleeping) serves the best food choice in the resort with such a wide variety that anybody who says the don't like the food in Spain is usually a pizza hut macdonalds fan.
Not much in entertainment recently but there is a wide choice of entertainers along the numerous other hotels where you are always welcome.
Try and visit the water park and parrot/dolphin show just outside Malgrat if you can.
The Castle experience is a tad expensive with jousting knights and eating chicken bare handed a greasy experience.
I have also stayed at the Montaplaya , Royal Sun and others
Remember the beach area is separated by the railway line from the main street and many hotels

Family Hotel
A few years ago we stayed in Hotel Papi. It's a great hotel for families. There's a swimming pool, pool table, bar, terrace, daily entertainment etc. The beach is only 100 meters away. The rooms and the other parts of the hotel are always very clean and the food is great.
