Been going to the same hotel same room for 5years staff are great and the food is fantastic thank you to all the staff see u in June

this hotel was very clean.the rooms were quite spacious,there was plenty of choice at breakfast time,though some of the meals at tea time were not great but you still had plenty of salad and fruits and puddings,there ws a two tier pool which was very clean,i will go back definately next year the staff were also very helpful it has a lovely reception,a small park for the kids to play in ,plenty of sun loungers to.
Mordernised recently, compared to photos in brochures, rooms clean but basic (when do you spend time there? Sleeping!) Towels changed everyday, Sheets once a week. Food acceptable, Wide choice for both Breakfast and Dinner.

Hi guys,
I'm wondering if anyone has stayed at Monteplaya and can give me a personal review of the place? I'm going there for a week this Thursday and I've read mixed reviews. It looks like a nice place to stay though.
Also, what is the going rate for a pint of beer in Malgrat? I've got €400 to spend. We are half board too so I think it should be enough. I just dont want to drink myself poor over there!!

Sorry to see you didn't get a reply to your question before your break in May, however, you may be able to help me - i am also staying at the Monteplaya for a week commencing this Sunday, how did you find your stay at this hotel?
And, was 400 euros enough because that's about the amount i intend taking.

Hi, i was wondering if anyone could help, i am going to the hotel above in October and would really like to go to the Port Aventura park. We are going by a coach holiday so would need to find alternative arrangements to get there. Does anyone know how close it is or if it is possible to get a bus / train etc, cant really find any information about this at the moment

Malgrat is north of Barcelona while P. Aventura is on the South, about 200Km away one from the other. From Malgrat de Mar there are frequent trains to Barcelona (I think to remember every 20 or 30 min) and from Barcelona there are several trains a day to Port Aventura , so it's doable. However, you should plan to leave very early, as it's about 1:15 h from Malgrat to Barcelona and about 1:30 h from Barcelona to P. Aventura.

I am travelling to Malgrat and staying at the hotel Monteplaya in 2wks time. I'd just like some info on the hotel as reviews ive read are hit and miss! Also I am going to take some euros and then use my Visa Electron Card to withdraw euros there, is there many ATM machines and will they accept a Visa Electron card.
Any help appreciated

almost every single village (even more if it's touristy) has more than one Bank office so you'll find ATM machines, dont' worry about it.
another question is commissions to withdraw money.
