This was apackage holiday by Thompsons holidays. As this was my first time abroad, I did not know what to expect. Many people tried to put me off going to Spain by saying that 'It's too commercialised' or 'You won't like the food' etc.
They could not have been more WRONG!
This was, and still is, a great hotel. The terrace is at the front for leisurly refreshment with the large swimming pool at the rear so you don't feel like you are on display.
There is/was a free soundproofed disco for hotel residents situated below the hotel.
Unique Quality: Food was reasonable to someone not well travelled before and 3 hotel reps. were on site.
Safety deposit boxes were available as was a currency changing service at reasonable commission rates.
Thomsons ran the rep. side of things and frquent visits were offered to places of interest.
This hotel was so good, in my opinion, that I came back to the exact same place and hotel the next year

Huge very nice hotel wit h nice staff and many facilities:
a big recepton, a lounge, 2 bars with very pleasant terras, pool and childpool, terrace with chairs, 2 elevators,every day there's entertainment, a tv-lounge, discotheek "Don Juan" for the youngsters

Great beaches at Malgrat de Mar, i love to walk barefoot in the sand and now and then in the water.
I have been to Malgrat September 2002 and i loved it.
It was my first trip ever to Spain.
My friend Joze and i went by bus from Eindhoven to Malgrat.
Joze goes to Spain every year to another city and she asked me to come with her this time which i don't regret at all:-)
We left on monday-afternoon around 12 and arrived at Tuesday at 7 in the morning uffffffff......a long way.
Service on the bus was good, the chairs were ok , but i rather travel by train or plane i must admit.
We had some stops on the way.
We crossed the borders of Belgium, Luxembourg, France and Spain.
Hotel Sorra Daurada is the hotel we booked, including breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

Malgrath del Mar is a beautifull city at the Costa Brava where u can make long beach walks or go shopping in the many shops on the Boulevards. Lots of cafes to have a drink and a good start to see more in Spain.

Wondering if anyone can help me i have a choice of staying in the maripins, sorra daurada or rosa nautica hotel for two weeks this summer but cant decide which one. If anyone has any information on any of these and could recommend one it would be most appreciated.

i stayed at Sorra Daurada and it was a very good hotel, good service, good food and close to the center and located on the boulvevard, lots of bars as well, opposite the sea, you only have to cross one street.

The Sorra Daurada Hotel is newer, has more facilities and is one of the most popular in Malgrat de Mar.
Hi we stayed at the marapins last year and we had a great time. Its right in the centre of malgrat near all the english bars. the eureka bar is one of the best nights out ever, i think its changed its name to the europa i think, you'll have to check it out but its not to be missed. The other two you are asking about are fine but to far away from the fun. Food at the marapins is ok, you get plenty of choice, i would give it 8/10 for variety, but like everywhere else sometimes you like a change and if you do go to eastenders GREAT FOOD. only 200 yrds from hotel.
