Cap Salou
by xdc33
Cap Salou is the cap right in the north of Salou (between Salou and La Pineda). You can get there easily by bus because there is a bus station right on the cap and espacially in summer busses arrive there frequently. The Cap Salou is full of nice little bays (all out-described) and some other nice spots like the lighthouse (A) (special tip: go there with you girlfriend at night :-) Another interesting spot is what we only call 'The Curve' (B) there are some pubs, restaurants and a club in this curve that you'll find very easy. Don't miss a dinner at Paddock the best restaurant of Salou ;-) Additionally a shop called Nuria (C) offers all things you need at Non-Tourist-Nap prices. So if you spend your holidays in Salou City spending one or more days on the Cap Salou is just perfect!

"salou, resons to be cheerfull...."
Reasons not to go part one, it’s s***t
Reasons not to go part two, it’s s***t
Reasons to go….The Chile at the Rio Grande, The Smugglers at Cap Salou, the nice little beaches between Salou and Cap Salou and Bar Zeppelin.
"bar zeppelin"
Just like any other “Rock” pub, good band, vast selection of spirits and beers and all the essentials required. However what was not needed was the prematurely over the hill, well past her sell by date old slapper, would be biker “chick”, something about mutton something about lamb, humourless bint behind the bar. (Not the pretty one but the one who thought she was the pretty one). Not being regarded as a “cool” person has never bothered me coz I’m not, but being treated like poo buy this ugly transvestite style guru, Australians nightmare of a bear was just so funny, kept going back just to *** her off! Good juke box and big screen videos and much cleaner since I was last there, or was it just much darker then. Total refit. Bars on the other side and the table footballs gone. Mind you the girl behind the bar was really nice back then so it’s not all changed for the good. The toilets are still a joke though, stinky stinky stinky, and the lights, why have a switch when wires held in place with masking tape can be so much more fun!
"rio grande and the hotel cala font"
Rio Grande
Super food, amazing Chile, cosmic Chile, splendiferous Chile, have I mentioned the Chile, it’s a bit good. Nice beer and super friendly. Elvis says “go and have some Chile at the Rio Grande” he loves it there and if it’s good enough for the king it’s good enough for you!
Hotel
Cala Font Cap Salou
Looks nice, it’s got a waterfall and everything, wow. Foods a bit cruddy, bars expensive, cleaners leave your patio doors unlocked everyday and you will not get any sleep. Death by flip flop, all night, idiots running up and down the corridors in bloody flip flops, flip flop, flip flop, flip….but much louder. And the shouting, and the crying, and the yelling, it’s as if Led Zeppelin are in the hotel, just waiting for Bonham to ride a motor bike up the corridor. The desk staff do have the decency to look worried if you go and talk to them, they must get so many complaints! But all is not lost coz just round the corner there’s a super place for breakfast and general niceness and peace and quiet, gets loud later though, you know when it should! And just over the road from that is the Smugglers bar restaurant thing, very good. Take cash though, no credit cards, don’t blame them. Take earplugs, use the safe and don’t even bother with the evening meal, or do what we did; have a holiday from your holiday and go to Barcelona! Elvis says, “Thank the good lord for credit cards”

Does the hotel have laundry facilities?
Re: cala font hotel, Cap Salou

Hello and welcome to VT.
I have looked for this hotel via google and found this link
http://www.hotelstreet.co.uk/Hotels-295-Cala_Font.html
It certailnly seems to be very well equipped with good general facilities but laundry services are not mentioned. Unfortunately I could not find a website for the hotel with an email address, only the telephone number, as in the Link I have quoted.
If you have already booked or are thinking of booking here perhaps the booking agency or Tour Company could help you out with this information. It used to be in the Thomas Cook Brochure according to some of the (good) reviews I saw online. I hope this is a little bit of help - and have a good holiday!
