great location , good hotel
we have just returned from a weeks holiday from salou me my partner & 4yr old daughter .we have never been to salou before but we really enjoyed it and the weather was fantastic too . we stayed at the h10 europa park hotel half board the hotel is really clean maids clean your room every day too the rooms are a bit on the smalll side but you dont really spend that much time in there so it dont really matter if you wanted clean towels every day you could have them there was also mini toiletries left for your own use which you dont always get in other hotels .there was also a tv in the room it didnt have that many channels but there was sky news so aleast what got to keep up to date with the goings on around the world .we didnt get a pool view but we wasnt dissapointed has we had a lovely view over looking a park at the back of the hotel. round the pool was clean there was plenty of sunbeds for every one they also had a life guard on duty from the pool opening to closing waiter service was available round the pool so every one had lunch at there beds has there was no need to go any where else there was entertainment staff on through the day playing the usual games bingo and so on there was a kids club on hand too but our daughter never went has she prefferd to stay in the kids pool all day.on a night the entertainment wasnt to our taste so we use to go down the road to other bars which didnt bother us but it was there if you wanted it the hotels was full all the time we were there quite a few english but a lot of spanish & german tourists too. the food was nice .for breakfast there was eggs , bacon, sausage or pastries, fruit ,toast all the usual for evening meal there was a chef on every night cooking different meats pork ,veal, turkey we had themed nights mexican & so on there was lots of pasta dishes , currys & desserts galore they only fault i had there wasnt much for children to eat but there again my daughter is a fussy eater and the reception & bar staff didnt speak good english which was a pain some of the time but overall really good hotel would go back in the future . ps kids there was also a macdonalds which was handy
Ok, but just Ok
Family of 5 stayed at the H10 from July 21 to 28, 2006. This is an average hotel in an average location and is moderately well suited for families. The rooms are basic but in general need of rennovation (some furniture was chipped and grotty in one of our rooms). Standards of cleaning are not the best. My wife complained about a dirty toilet on arrival and the stains on the basin were still there when we left. We booked this with FIRST CHOICE whose reps are very defensive of the hotel (it should be the other way round). We were unhappy with the no t-shirt rule in the hotel pool (especially given heat wave temperatures of over 100 degrees and three young children). The rep tried to fob us off by saying that this was the rule in all Salou hotels (complete rubbish as we have stayed in the resort several times before) and then said it was a H10 group policy (even more nonsense as the H10 Princess hotel opposite allowed t-shirts in the pool. Guests were friendly but this is a hotel aimed at adults, with no balls, floats etc allowed in the pool (we overcame this by spending time in the pool of the H10 Princess opposite). The hotel is in a good location for Port Aventura (a 10-15 minute walk) and the location is peaceful at night. The food is ok with plenty of choice, plenty of fresh bread and fruit if you don't like the main meals. Breakfast is particularly good. If you go to Salou don't take the tour operators tours to Barcelona, Nou Camp etc as the train is much, much cheaper and very accessible (return train tickets to Barca for a family of five cost around £25). We would not stay at this hotel again, but if you have already booked, don't worry too much as there is nothing nightmarish here - just have a look around at other hotels and apartments and see what you might have got...!!!
super hotel with helpful staff
Great hotel in a central location in Salou. Close to bars (which are spread out all over the place, rather than on a central strip) and approx 5 min walk from levante beach, but we preferred to walk 15-20 mins to get to Poniente beach which was much quieter (we went first 2 weeks of August 2006).
At the hotel you could hire a fridge for just over 30 euros for 2 weeks, same for safety deposit box which is located in the room.
We were half board but the hotel let you swap dinner for lunch if you fancy eating out in the evening. The food was really good, with lots of choice every night, including a chef's section where you can see him cooking. According to our rep, if you don't fancy anything on the buffet, you can request something of your choice if you don't mind waiting and they have the ingredients in stock.
Rooms can be noisy if you get one that has an adjoining door to the next room (handy for families though) but you can hear everything.
Pool area was nice and clean and we were always able to get a sunbed, although the pool is shaded and you have to keep moving if you want the sun all day. There were therapists giving massages for 10 euros a couple of days a week on poolside too.
All in all, I would recommend this hotel.
For me, this was the first beach holiday! also the fact I got to go wit a group of best friendz! We booked the holiday 12 weeks before flying there and the we got a good bargain, just over $500 including half board and the passes for the theme park! Porta- Ventura is defo worth going to! it closes at midnight and there is a firework display every night at 11:45pm! I advise you go get ther an hr earlier to get a nice space to sit and enjoy, I went 5 times! hehe! it was just amazing, almost as godo as Disney Land fire display!
When we arrived, the weather was brilliant! it was about 32 degrees? and to our suprise, the entrance of the hotel was better than we thought! Tthe holiday rep helpped us alot! There was so much to do at the hotel and we did spend quite alot of time in the hotel. There are various types of night time entertainment, lots of free activities such as the bingo and shooting. The pool did seem alot smaller than the photos but it wasnt too bad as alot f people wanted to sunbathe in the sun! The hotel is really near to pretty much everything, there is a supermarket literally outside the hotel, bus stops we went to Reus and Barcelona!), information centre, food places and the trip to the beach is no more than 10 minutes! so many shops, Macdonalds, ice cream places, souveniers, bars etc! OH and also the walk to Porta-Ventura was only a mile away! there are these mini buses that can take you there!
The food at the hotel was quite varied, but every night there would be open salad selections, fish, various meat, freshly cooked wraps, meat, etc. it did seem like there was alot of seafood such as muscles, prawns, different types of fish in sauce etc, and pasta. The food wasnt bad at all! and alot of desert too such as cake, jelly, ice cream, fruit, fresh bakery etc.
There is also a postbox nx to the reception so posting postcards or letters wasnt a problem at all, stamps can be bought at the reception. Phone boxes outside the lift, the lounge is big and has a wide screen plasma, its always kept clean aswell.
Theres 2 pool tables by the bar and a mini archade place for kids or anyone who enjoys games.
We went for 2 weeks but sadly towards the last 2 - 3 days we were wanting to go home as we were always following the same routine. The whole trip was throughly enjoyed! We miss all the staff there.
rooms were cleaned everyday and the maids were really nice! so Thank you!
Yu can rent a mini fridge for cheap price! so you can store water or whatever and have them relaly cold at night!
a safety deposit box can be provided aswell at a small pice aswell! it was well worth it and nothing to worry about!
loved the hotel the food gave enough choices no one should moanthe rooms were cleaned daily with clean towels the reception staff where helpfull and pleasent we reported our tv faulty at 10pm it was fixed whithin the hour my only moan is the reserving of sun beds round the pool and the constant cat whale at full blast of spanish music all day you could not relax unless you paid 14 erous on the beach daily.
It was terrible
me and my mother and father went to Europa Park and like that iam partially disabled (weak down my left side), so When we got booked into our hotel it was terrible i couldn't move around and then to make it worse i couldn't have a bath or shower as i cant get in or out of a bath which made it worse, so i had to use the swimming pool.. which wasn't very good, i wouldn't say me or my parents will be going back their again,
First Class Hotel
I have just returned from this hotel having spent a week there but it was far too short. There were 17 of us, aged 43 to 63 and we all absolutely loved it. We go away together every 2 years and have done for the last 10 years and this hotel is by far the best. We have stayed in 4* accommodation that has not been nearly as good. I read a few of the reviews before I went and can endorse the fact that it is not ideal for teenagers (although the hotel is situated right next to the bars and restraunts) however we never heard any noise at night.
The food was the best we have had at a buffet. The menu changed every night, with the chefs show cooking and if there was nothing to suit even the most fussy gourmet I don't know what would satisfy them. Everyone thought it was excellent.
The staff were very friendly and first class, the waiters especially, but we could not fault anyone. The rooms were very clean and were cleaned every day with clean towels provided.
All in all I would give this hotel 100% for value for money, friendly staff and cleanliness.
We would definately go back again.

Excellent 3* Hotel - Nothing To Complain
This year we´ve been for the 6th time in this hotel and i´ve got to write these review! We´ve been there when our daughter was only 6 months old. We got excellent service starting with the room and ending with all the extras you need when travelling with such a little baby. Milk for her bottle, vegetable without salt and spices - everything free. Noone would have taken any cents from us! When she had finished with her meals, the waitresses would take her for little walks around the restaurant, so we could enjoy our dinner!!!! Now she´s 4 years old and one day she felt sick. We got served on our table an excellent soup for her to make her eat a little bit they brought it in a silver bowl and made a "big thing" out of it, just for her to make her smile and eat a little bit. MiniClub is great for the little ones! Every evening, our daughter got a funny painted face!
Food variety is great. Noone walks out of the restaurant feeling hungry. No matter if for breadkfast, lunch or dinner. They offer for every meal freshly made food... i.e. breakfast: crepes, eggs and toast made the style you like.
The pool area is rather small and there are always deck-chairs which are reserved the whole day without being used - very annoying, but when talking to the lifeguards, they will help you and take the towels away.
Rooms are moderate, but very clean. Fresh towels daily and bed-sheets were changed twice a week.
We´ll be back next year again and enjoy this hotel and it excellent and friendly staff - most of them we know since six years!
Just returned from 1 week in Europa Park Hotel,
Was quite worried after reading previous reviews, Hotel staff friendly and helpful, food was plentiful and a great variation each day. Good location for Beach (3 min walk ) and Port Adventura (10 min walk) went with My Husband and 4 teenagers who also loved the resort, food and found plenty to do, Would recommend this hotel to anyone
Shame it had to close and move to champions.
