NICE HOTEL , DIDN´T LIKE THE FOOD

We went to Salou in the beginning of June and stayed in this hotel for 1 night in half-board. It is located on the central area of Salou, where you can find many souvenirs. The rooms are clean, have a TV Satelite (we stayed in 3 hotels, but only this one had a Portuguese TV- RTP1). However, I think the hotel is a bit noisy - we didn´t sleep very well, because in the middle the night (4 or 5 a.m.) a crazy portuguese has screemed for more than half an hour.
In what concerns food, we didn´t like it at all (yet there was a great variety). It wasn´t tasty. Besides, for a bottle of water we paid 1,60€ (we though we will not pay for the meal, but all the drinks must be paid, except for the milk shakes). It is usually on this area, in all hotels, including the 4 stars, to charge you for the drinks at lunch and dinner, even in full board.
For safety, we decided to leave our car on the hotel parking and for it we paid 10€, more than in a 4 star hotel (for instance, in Hotel H10 Salauris Palace**** you pay only 5€).
The main purpose of our visit, was to go to Port Aventura. You mustn´t miss it. We really do love it. We stayed in the Hotel El Paso for 2 nights, which give access to both parks (Port Aventura and Caribe Aquatic Park) for 3 days, as well as access to the Universal Express Pass, that allows you to go to the best attractions without waiting . This pass will also allows you to pay for meals and souvenirs without using money – before going to these parks, you must activate it on the hotel’s reception. Besides all the attractions, there also some shows – our favourite ones are: The Can Can Show; Fiesta Mariachi - in the Cantina; and the Fort Frenzee.
We also visited Barcelona: The Sagrada Família; the Cathedral. There you can find many beautiful old monuments.
WATCH OUT: someone in a scooter flated one of our tyres (later on we concluded he had cut it with a knie while we were stopped on the traffic lights) and then asked us if we needed a mechanic!! Of course the mechanic must be himself or a friend.

Unique Quality: This hotel has a nice outdoor pool with a waterfall, a bar near to it, and a stage (at night you can assist a singer’s performance or music it will be played). It also has an indoor bar; a big room with a Plasma TV and Internet; shops; one room, where you can play several games.

Any Good Hotel Or Apartments

by Collyb

Hi All,
I will be travelling to Salou in August after completing a 7day Cruise and will be dropped off in Barcelona. My wife and I have never stayed in Salou so would like to know any good hotels or apartments to stay as we do like to enjoy ourselves with good bars and restaurants. I'd appreciate any information at all regarding Salou.
Thanks
Colin. N.Ireland

Depending on what you are looking for and your budget, you could also consider La Pineda, just to the North. a ten minute bus ride into Salou. For accomodation, no matter where you decide to stay, you could try www.wintersunshineholidays.com

Depending on Budget, There are several nice hotels within the resort itself. There are a chain of h10 properties or even Best hotels! I would probably say he H10 will be your best bet! Better Location most of them... Sol Costa Daurada is about a 15 minute walk from centre of salou, but is a stunning hotel! Or more central you have the Europa Park (on a busyish roundabout though), The salou Princess or the Delphin Park...All stunning properties...There is even a nice hotel in the Jaime 1 which is a 5 mnute stroll from the beach an all local amenities!
