SALOU
Myself and my wife and our daughter and her pal all went to Salou, it was a great place for our daughter and her pal they are both teenagers and loved the nightlife.
If you want nightlife and sun then Salou is the place for you, and it is also great for the kids with Port Ventura and the ajoining waterpark being just up the road, if you have kids it may be wise to get a multi day pass for the theme and water parks.
Myself and my wife dont drink and we prefer scenery and romantic restaurants etc, so for us it was not really very good and we certainly would not return, there are not that many excursions, you can go into Barcelona which we were told is a beautiful city but we did not do this, I did get a bus myself into nearby Tarragona, this was quiet an interesting little town with a Roman ampitheatre and a ancient walled Town.
All in all Salou is very built up and mostly very high hotels, the beach is lovely but Salou not really our cup of tea, still it was ok for a nice break in the sun.
"PORT VENTURA"
This was the big theme park, we went here for a day and the girls had a great time, we enjoyed it to, mostly watching them although we did go on a few rides ourselves. Some of the excursions into Barcelona give you a buy one get one free ticket for Port Ventura, we was given one which saved us about GBP20, so if you are planning a trip to Barcelona it may pay to do this before you go to the theme park.
"OUR HOTEL"
We stayed All Inclusive at the Hotel Mediterraneo, the Hotel was ok just basic the food was adequate but the entertainment was mainly for the Spanish with the occasional acts that did the circuits of most of the other Hotels. Speaking to others that were staying in other Hotels this was about the same through out Salou.
