TRANSPORT FROM EL PRAT TO SITGES

by rockyhorror10

HI FOLKS ,CAN ANYONE TELL ME ABOUT TRAINS FROM THE AIRPORT TO SITGES ON A SUNDAY?IN OCTOBER WILL THEIR BE ANY OR DO I HAVE TO MAKE OTHER PLANS?THE RENFE WEB SITE DOES NOT MAKE IT THAT CLEAR

Re: TRANSPORT FROM EL PRAT TO SITGES

pssss, please DON'T SHOUT!
The day the Renfe website makes something clear it will make news headline! ;-)

Anyway, the regional trains have been transferred to the Catalan Government, and even still operated by Renfe, you can now check for details in this much more user-friendly website: www.rodalies.cat

Of course trains will be operating in October. This train line is very busy all year round.

There is no direct train from the airport to Sitges. You have to change trains in El Prat de Llobregat.

There are buses as well, but I can't tell, I always used the train when going to my hometown, Vilanova i La Geltrú (next town past Sitges in the same train line). You may check timetables at www.monbus.cat

Buses are direct but not frequent, so usually the quickest (and cheapest, only 3 euros) way is the train.

Happy travels

Hi!
Look it through
http://www.sitges-tourist-guide.com/en/airport/sitges-to-barcelona-airport-transfer.html

As to me the easiest way is to take train from to airport to El Prat de Liobregat and transfer back direction (trains often) but to another way to Sitges (Salou, Tarragona)

Transfer to Sitges from Barcelona Airport by Train
There are no direct trains from Barcelona Airport to Sitges. Therefore, it is necessary to take the C2 RENFE train from Terminal 2 to El Prat de Llobregat which is the first stop after the airport. You can then catch a train to Sitges from this station.
If you are arriving at Terminal 1 of Barcelona Airport, there is a free shuttle bus that will take you to the train station which is located at Terminal 2. See the the Barcelona Airport Train article for further details on this.
Good luck!

Travel Tips for Sitges

23 June. Revetlla de Sant Joan

by Labrix

Sant Joan day is the 24 of June and is bank holiday in Catalunya. The night after is the night of the fire, the shorter night of the year, the summer solstice, the magic night.

Some years ago it was very easy to find big bonfires in everywhere, but now this is very controlled due security reasons.

Everybody is on the streets, children included, and they spend all the night eating "coca de Sant Joan", playing with the fireworks, drinking cava (Catalonian champagne, it's very good!) and dancing in the revetlla (verbena in Spanish), that are parties on the streets, usually with live music that a orquestra plays.

Eating

by Maggies

The bars along the promenade in Sitges are great for those who can't stand the summer heat... and those who enjoy eating and drinking.
In restaurant Pic Nic they serve excellent cod fish baked in the salt.

Casa Bartomeu Carbonell

by MM212

Also known as Casa del Rellotge (Clock) because of the clock on its tower, the Casa Bartomeu Carbonell is a landmark building in the commercial heart of Sitges. The residential edifice was completed in 1915 when Sitges was acquiring numerous modernista buildings. Its most recognisable feature is the pencil-like tower covered in blue and white tiles.

Jewel of the catalan sea side

by sjazeerah

"September 11th Street - Carrer del 11 Septiembre"

In Sitges -the most beautiful sea side place near Barcelona- close to the beach there is a street called: CARRER DEL 11 SEPTIEMBRE.

It has, of course, nothing to do with the incident you think about now. The streetname refers to a local holiday.

The photo was taken from a house located on carrer del 11 Septiembre and is overlooking a beach bay. The historical city centre starts to your right.
