Going up the walls- Paseig Arquelogic
by Ekaterinburg
Without a doubt , the walk along the ancient city walls which enclose the old quarter on three sides, is one of the most spectacular attractions of Tarragona. These walls are the oldest Roman construction still standing outside of Italy and were started shortly after they arrived here in 218 BC.The walk which circumnavigates the walls, winds its way between the original Roman walls and the more modern, 16th -18th century reinforced additions. Parts of the route, especially around the Camp de Mart, goes through beautiful Mediterranean gardens and along the way you will pass three great towers which form part of the fortifications.

Hiking the Cliffs
by DSwede
Easily accessible from Barcelona, located about 1/2 the distance between Tarragona and Barcelona, most people would add this to a Barcelona destination, but for those in Tarragona, it is still a must see.
I went to Montserrat, which for those that don?t intuitively know Spanish, translates to Serrated Mountain. It is a bit of an oddball in Spain, jutting up past all of the local landscape in tremendous vertical pinnacles. The vegetation is healthy, and the climbs are steep. The sun is scorching on the bare ground or open trails, but when you get in the overhang of the trees the shade and leaf-filtered air is cool and refreshing. You should have seen me left to my own devices on Montserrat for about 5 hours, I gave the mountains goats a run for the title of king of the mountain. Good time and a great work out.
On the northeast side, there is a cog-wheel and a cable car that cheats and get you up most of the other side. Near the top is a church or cathedral. Bring your own hiking boots and lots of water, sun lotion

What can I say...FANTASTIC. Great value (2/3 day tickets £20 CH, £26 AD), great fun, great rides, great nightime fireworks show.
Main coaster is Dragon Khan (8 loops) but our fave was Stampida! Wooden 2 track coaster, Red and Blue cars give a different ride.
Tarraco - Old Rome

Tarragona is littered with small Roman ruins, many of which make perfect spots to sit at a cafe and watch the city flow.
But the largest and most magnificent ruin in Tarragona is the Coliseum. Right off of the beach, you can take a leisurely tour on your way down to refresh in the water in the heat of the day.
