Jobs In Tarragona, Spain
by KayJay
I am an English speaking woman with many years experience of working in the education section and am looking for full time work in the Tarragona, Sitges area of Spain.

You don't say whether your experience is as a teacher or as, say, a school crossings person.
In any event I would think your chances are probably better in Tarragona ( I take it you mean the town ) but you will be terminally bored living in Tarragona unless you have a very good reason for going there.
Personally, I would look to Barcelona itself.
You could quite easily work in Barcelona and commute from Sitges.
Best of luck!

Travel Tips for Tarragona
Castells!
by Elisabcn
Castells (or human towers) are typical constructions of the province of Tarragona. The castells' world is very complex: there are different kinds of castles and every castle has its own name. The castles can reach 10 floors but the most usual castles have between 7 and 8 floors.
The main parts of any kind of castle are:
-"pinya" all the people on the ground floor that help to build the castle
-"tronc" the different floors of the castle
-"enxaneta" is the kid on the top of the castle;
You can consider that a castle is "carregat" or finished when the "enxaneta" arrives at the top and he/she raises the hand
In Tarragona's area there is a big rivalry between the "colles" or groups castellers, specially if they are from the same city; The rivalry is bigger if they are building castles in their local town festivities: they try to do the best and more complicated castles to impress the public
Beach area - The La Savinosa Beach.
by Jerelis
When we booked our trip to Tarragona we knew that our wooden house would be situated very close to the La Savinosa Beach. This is a semi urbanized beach, 350 x 30 metres of fine golden sand with calm and slightly deep water. When we first arrived at this beach we noticed that the stretch at the east is becoming closer as it approached a few rocks that stops the winds. The La Savionosa Beach is not so crowded and to reach it we passed some small dunes and certain vegetations.
They clean the beach every day and we know this, because they were still doing this when we arrived around 09:00h. We also saw some wastebins, showers, parking spots, public phones, lifeguards, chiringuitos, restaurants, umbrellas and hammocks. As a family we always like to go to the beach. It´s the ultimate playground for kids, both big and small, of all ages, from toddlers to teenagers and beyond. The beach offers an incredible number of attractions you can do for families who are looking for an entertaining day, like us. And sometimes, when we left the beach by the end of the day we wrote down a message on the wet sand on the beach with the pieces of driftwood or shells.
TORTOSA
by trotador
When you traveling to the Delta do not miss Tortosa. Tortosa is 15minutes away by car. Tortosa is right next to the Ebro river. In ths city were the Romans, Arabs, Jews, etc...it's so old. Actually this city is very bad kept. WHERE TO GO: To the Castle and Cathedral at least.(check warnings)
Also if there is time enought go to the montains to take a hike and watch the wild goats. The montain is known as Els Ports. It's really nice.
national archaeological museum
by doug48
the national archaeological museum is located on the placa del rei next to the king's castle. on the outside of the museum is the inscription "tarraco scipionum opus", (tarraco is the work of the scipions). this fine museum has an interesting collection of iberian, roman, and visigothic artifacts. there are more than 25,000 relics on display. i would highly recommed this museum to the visitor to taragona.
Defensive walls complex
by Raimix
Defensive walls are a mix of former Roman and medieval defensive structure. Most walls were redone in 12th – 14th centuries, some towers as Monges and Tintore were added.
The walls, that are actually mostly from medieval times nowadays marks the borders of former Roman city, the one, that was a strong point for further intervention to Spanish lands.
