    Amazing facilities.

    by

For over two weeks we stayed at Torre de la Mora. of course we spended most of our time outside the bungalow, but it's great to know that after a day of exploring the city of Tarragona, beautiful surroundings, city of Barcelona or the Monastery of Montserrat, a nice and comfortable bungalow is waiting. Besides wooden bungalows you can also rent mobil-homes, triganos (military-style tent) and of course put your own tent there. All the facilities of the campground were great, we must say. We saw sanitary (also for babies and disabled), a children's park, sports area (tennis, mini golf, football, basketball and beach vollyball court), laundry facilities, internet room, supermarket and safe box facilities.

The camping 'Torre de la Mora' is in the heart of the Punta de la Mora, a natural open area which includes the entire coast and beaches. It's just great to wake up and walk towards the beach within three minutes and have a dive. If you're not into swimming in the sea, it's possible to do so in the beautifully situated swimming pool of 900m2. Right there we also spended time in the huge childrens swimming pool. A great place to be!

    A wooden bungalow.

    by

Booking a bungalow was very easy via their internetsite. In about three days later we received an email that the bungalow was booked and they also included a map with directions how to reach it. We sended an email in return to ask for an additional bed for little Sam and within 24 hours we had another confirmation that it would be present. A very good service! We arrived at 02:30u at night and were pleased that the campground had a reception which was open 24 hours a day. They showed us the bungalow and it was time for bed. For this first night Relinde and I slept in the living room, because we didn't want to spent too much time on exploring the place, we just wanted to sleep!

So, by the time we woke up the next morning we had all the time of the world to have a look around. The sun was shining, we opened the curtains and we saw two bedrooms: one with a double-bed and the other with bunk-bed, one sofa in the living room, a living room with enclosed a fully equipped kitchen, bath-room (with shower, toilet and wash basin), huge terrace (with one table and four chairs), television and finally all the bed-linen and towels were provided about perfect.

    Choosing a place to stay.

    by

Well I guess that about everybody does it the same way? First choose the location where to go for the trip and than trying to find a nice place to stay. We did surf the internet a lot, once we decided to go to Tarragona. We read some guides and saw some places to stay selected across a wide price range for the excellence of their facilities, location or character. To be honest, we are not really the camping type of people, so we ruled those locations out. But by the time we were not able to find any suitable hotel, appartement, et cetera, we saw the homepage of the campground of Torre de la Mora.

So, what was so nice about this particular campground? Well ... it was the fact that they had several wooden bungalows and they were about perfect for us! Who wouldn't like to live in a bungalow with sea views from the beach itself, with all the comforts, surrounded by virgin vegetations and in a natural area? Exactly, it is close to a dream location and we found it!

Writing in the Diary of a Madman.

by Jerelis about Camping Torre de la Mora

Whenever we undertake a journey to a particular country we always want to know all about the surroundings, it’s history, it’s culture, which cities to visit, which hikes to undertake, et cetera. In advance to the journey we browse over the internet to get certain information and read travel books just to make sure we won’t miss out on anything.

Once we’re travelling we like to talk to the local people about their own country, their own region and those conversations will retrieve lots of extra information about some beautiful spots to visit, the ultimate restaurant or sometimes a particular area to avoid.

Ever since we had our own personal travel site and this one at Virtual Tourist we like not only to undertake the journey, but also write about it for everyone to enjoy. Just to make sure we won’t forget the details of our journey we write is all down in a diary. We have given the dairy the name “Diary of a madman” and it contains all the information we have gathered. We like to make the diary more beautiful to glue in some pictures out of folders and also the entrance tickets to museums, National Parks, bus tickets, et cetera.

This way we’re able to tell all our friends about our travels. For Virtual Tourist we can reproduce all the information for (hopefully) solid tips with lots of good details that will help you in your travels. Besides that it’s always fun to read about a journey we took for example 7 or 8 years ago and read about what we exactly did and how we experienced it. We also have managed to keep in touch with the local people we talked to and do nourish these contacts. Especially at the travelogue section of each location you can see some pages out of the Diary of a madman. Yes, we know, it's written in Dutch, but you'll have an impression on how it looks. And maybe you can tell us how you remember all the information for your tips. Enjoy! Just whatever you want :)
