Visitors can also find little shops to buy other kind of products such as olives, salados (one of the most genuine products of Alicante), teas, clothes... There's even a little library! Outside the building a roomy terraza (outdoors bar) and a flower shop is waiting for those who want to end up their buy with a break and have an horchata, coffee or a beer with tapas.
The Mercado Central is located in the very heart of Alicante and it becomes the most popular meeting point in town. During the morning, buying is sometimes an excuse for older people to meet once a week. After lunchtime, the stairs facing Alfonso el Sabio Avenue are the favourite spot for everybody to gather before going out.
