Travel Tips for Benidorm

The best time of year to visit. November Fiestas!

by helsbels

There are many fiesta days throughout the year but some are bigger than others. Some won't seem to be celebrated -just everything will be closed, and some, it's party time!! November fiestas are the biggest in Benidorm, they last about 2 weeks in the first 2 weeks of November. There are parades and fireworks in the old town and the atmosphere is buzzing! In the new town there isn't so much going on but its always packed. All the clubs and bars have people spilling out and theres a definate party atmosphere. I'd say its better than the summer as theres more of a mixture of ages, less trouble but still busy. This is definatley the best time to visit Benidorm.

Benidorm

by DanielF

Benidorm is the story of the development of mass tourism in the Spanish Mediterranean coast.

Until the 1960s it was a small fishing village on a rocky outlet between two impressive beaches for which the presence of the sea had been more an obstacle than a chance for development.

When Spain started its successful tourist carreer, Benidorm had all the ingredients necessary to please the sun hungry north Europeans that started to make holidays in the country: marvelous beaches, and many, many hours of sun.

You could not recognise this little fishing village any more in Benidorm, but even if you are not interested in packed beaches and low budget tourism, Benidorm is worth a visit even if its only for its interest as sociological phenomenon.
