I will be in the Benidorm / Alicante region later this year and it will be my 20th wedding anniversery. Can anyone recommend a nice hotel for 1 night. Happy to pay around 300 Euros for 1 night. I would like a nice room with a spa bath etc.

A good hotel in Benidorm is the Melia Benidorm. However if you are looking for a little bit more of luxury, I would recommend you to go to Melia Altea Hills ( see for the report onmy Altea page )This hotel is a little bit on the mountains. I you want a good one from the same group of hotels but on the coast and also in Altea, which is about 10 - 12 kilometers from benidorm, you have Melia Villa Gadea. The Altea Hills has a Spa for sure. Check the hotels out on their web site - www.solmelia.com

Here is some brief info on areas that are nice you could visit during your trip.
Rach
North Costa Blanca is well worth checking out. Altea, Calpe, Moraira, Javea, Denia and Oliva are all beautiful. Montgo Mountain has great views along coast of Javea. Denia Castle is a must see. El Portet beach in Moraira is very nice. Calpe Rock is amazing. Altea old town with the church with a blue roof is a beautiful sight. Javea harbour area is very pretty. Denia has miles of amazing beaches. Sandy in the north, rocky in the south.
I'll second the suggestion to venture just that bit further and try Altea if you've not already decided.
Its a good base to start from and only about 50 minutes from Alicante airport.
This is one of the places where lots of British go,but I must say it can be fun.You have almost every hour live performances of singers,dancers,drag queens,comedians etc.Live music combined with disco music.It is also possible to sit outside to enjoy your drink and watch the people go by.Reasonable prices open till late. After years of being used as a joke - the type of resort up market tourists shouldn`t go to - Benidorm has become fashionable. Not that it will ever be a St Trpoez or Cannes, but it is not the dire place the name still conjures up.
