Avenue Mediterraneo - Benidorm
by RoyJava
The wide Avenida del Mediterraneo, Mediterranean Avenue, is one of the main avenues of Benidorm. Along this large avenue you can find a lot of hotels, the city-bus routes and people knocking about the streets.
From the center Plaza Triangular the avenue goes to Rincon De Loix for about 2 kilometres and, back again ... Try a bicyle tour, for Benidorm is tour-de-france for mountainbikers with hundreds of miles to cycle ... a tourist magnet in any sense of the word.
Chinchòn.
by Maurizioago
This village is located 45 km. south-east of Madrid.
Chinchòn is famous for the bread with anis. It is a kind of sweet bread made in different shapes.
This village has a large Plaza Mayor with lots of restaurants. In Chinchòn there is beautiful parador where you can spend some time resting.
I went to Chincòn by bus from Madrid. I took one in Avenida Mediterraneo. Metro stop; Conde de Casal.
Balearic Islands - Islas Baleares
by spanishguy
The Balearic Islands are an archipelago in the western Mediterranean Sea, near the eastern coast of the Iberian Peninsula. They are four inhabited islands: Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera, and one small island, Cabrera, with a Natural Park. They're the smallest Spanish Autonomus Community and they have two official languages, Spanish and Catalan. They're a very popular tourist destination and there are lots of foreigners living here year round, mainly Germans. I love its nature and beaches, but also the megalith architecture in Mallorca and Menorca and the world famous non-stop discos in Ibiza.
Nice hotel staff not.

Have just returned from 7 nights in the Mediterraneo, Benidorm and it was a spotless hotel with a georgeous swimming area and the food was okay.
The only problem were the staff! You will know there are rules to be followed and you will follow them.
We had paid for all inclusive and not PAID for a free service. The staff seemed to find it a chor rather than a pleasure to help, and made a point of rationing sizes of drinks. If you require a stronger vodka or a large wine ,then no is the answer.
The entertainment was the same trio of singers every night and bingo.
We did have a great time at the Mediterraneo ,it is a nice hotel but the staff need to chill out and respect paying guests. We are the reason they are there.

NOT for Young Children
by TripAdvisor Member sarahmcevoy
Do not stay here with young children
We were at the Mediterraneo for a week in August 06 and ended up at McDonalds as our 3 year old did not like the food and my 9 year old was bored with the hot dogs and chips by day 3.
Food was good for adults but did not cater well enough for children.
Warning - the night time entertainment can be heard clearly through out the hotel until it stops @ midnight so be prepared to stay up with young children or take push chairs to get them to sleep.
Pool is lovely but deep at a uniform 5 ft I could not take my youngest in to the big pool as I was too short to safely carry him, much to hubbys annoyance.
Pool is SALT WATER - be prepared for sore eyes.
Get your towels on the sunloungers @ 8.30am or you will not get one.
All Inclusive waste of money with kids as crisps and ice lollies are NOT included and that's all they want on holiday.
Would not go back there.
Well worth a visit.

We stayed at the Mediterraneo 19/26 April 2007.Although outside the reconised holiday season , which starts May 1st in most brochures, we found the hotel lived upto our expectations.
Food was always varied and well presented offering a large selection of dishes for all meals, catering for all tastes.
Hotel was very clean, toilets were cleaned on a regular basis throughout the day and evening. Room cleaning was average with more than one occasion insuffecient clean towels. This was rectified by a phone call to reception.
Bar staff were varied in their service, very strict interpretation of the all-inclusive rules .Sometimes not enough staff to deal with the number of guests waiting to be served.
Sunbathing/swimming pools, more than enough sunbeds, no need to reserve, but bear in mind this was out of season. Two pools, outdoor pool very cold, indoor heated, with sauna's male and female. Free use of a well equipped Gym.
Lastly the entertainment/animation team. They were very professional and really made the holiday. Well done.
Charm school shut the day bar staff attended

We got a good last minute deal on this hotel with First Choice. First the positives, the hotel is spotlessly clean. The rooms were practical and reminded me very much of staying at a Travelodge back home. The first choice kids club was fantastic, Izzy was a real star and our daugther spent many happy hours at the club. Unfortunately we were told that First Choice are not using the mediterraneo as a families type hotel next year and the kids club was cleared out when it closed on 31st October. Now for the negatives, as mentioned previously a great deal on these pages the bar staff's attitude leaves a lot to be desired we did fill in a hotel questionnaire and mentioned this as did other people. The food in the restaurant is what I would describe as works canteen the choice is good but the quality is only 3 star. The swimming pool was freezing cold, I know we were there in October, you can swim inside it is only a small pool and you have to buy a swimming hat. The entertainment is average, the kids get half an hour mini disco, there is a resident band and on alternate evenings a professional show!! they also play one game of Bingo. The hotel is situated in a nice quiet end of Benidorm we went on a day out by bus to Altea, the bus stops right outside the hotel which made for a pleasant change. The highlight of our holiday was our day out a Terra Mitica, which was good value booked through first choice 10 euros less than the advertised entrance price with transport. On the whole we had a lovely holiday mainly because of the brilliant kids club, if the kids are happy we are. I think this hotel has a four star rating because of its building and location rather than its services (other than the cleaning, which is excellent throughout)
Not what i expected, but!!

This hotel has a few things to do before becoming a great hotel,
like:- Entertainment, friendliness to the children by the bar staff unless they are 15 yr old girls that look older like my daughter, bar times as the the ai stops at 11pm ( all other hotels have been 12pm), when spanish have weddings and hire the hotel they become priority( like when my kids went to the bar for a drink they were completely ignored till one of the bar staff refused service till the guests had gone),to which i had a little word with the management. But all in all it was a decent holiday food was very good indeed, the beer was quite a lot nicer than anywhere else i have stopped, entertainment staff were very good apart from a black guy (and i am NOT racist before anyone thinks i am) who would not leave my daughter alone, every time he saw her, funny how he was never interested in her younger sister of 11yrs,the reception staff were great, rooms imaculate and the best thing was there were only 2 floors so getting back to our room was very easy.
Probably a good hotel for the older generation with tollerance for the abrupt bar personel.
hope this has been helpful and belive me there is no need for me to be untruthfull as we did enjoy our stay.

You may find some useful information here:

If you are coming from Alicante (El Altet) airport, check schedules at Alsa. There is a direct bus service from the airport to Benidorm.
