La Era Park Apartments

Just got back on Monday from a ten day stay at these apartments. I was more than happy with them and would definately stay there again. They were basic, but clean and quite spacious. We were visited by ants only in the bathroom but after getting rid of the attraction (dead moth) most of them seemed to disperse. We turned the cleaner away on numerous occasions but she was always happy to give us clean towels/toilet rolls etc. We were situated on the ninth floor which from the balcony gave you great views across the old town/beach/sea/sun set etc. The bar downstairs does sell food, but a limited choice. Some reviews say the bar man is grumpy I think its just the fact that his english is limited so he doesnt say much. The location of the hotel is ideally placed to give you the best of both worlds. The old town shops etc, are less than five mins walk away, the new town bars etc, are no more than ten mins walk away. Just down the road from the hotel, there are five or six english bars all in a line, which do decent food, The Castle Bar especially. Also there is a good selection of Indian/Italian/Spanish/Chinese restaraunts close by which we ate at.

The hill that you walk up, mentioned in some reviews, isn't really a hill but more of a slight incline. Although I did struggle one night after a few too many. It may though be too much for the elderly, oh and the drunk.

As I said earlier I would definately go back to this hotel and for the price it makes it a bargain!

Unique Quality: Great views of Old town from Higher balcony's. Great central location for both towns.
