Benidorm cityscape- with bad join in the middle!

Me and my 12 year old daughter are going to benidorm on the 6th of april, and staying in the hotel orange. what can we expect? we have been to other parts of spain and have always found it a little bit expensive, is benidorm like this?
I don't think Spain is an expensive country compared to some other European places.

Benidorm normally is not expensive but you are going on the weekend of Easter, thats why the prices are higher (normally on low season you get rooms for 35 euros).
I would say Benidorm has 3 parts, a brittish one full of english pubs and nightlife, the promenade and the old town with bars where mainly spaniards go (I loved a couple of them, great tapas! sorry I do not remember the name, check at Hosell pages, he is an expert!).
If you want to see how it is, I would suggest to visit some of the Benidorm pages here on VT, so you ahve an idea what to expect. My personal experience is that all that I am willing to come back :-)
maybe you would enjoy Terra Mitica the theme park just outside Benidorm!

Is Benidorm good!? All depends what you want. If you want a typical 'English' holiday, you will probably be in hog heaven. And competition means some places can be very cheap. If you want to avoid that, there are places to go. With actual Spanish people. Nice beaches, as well. If you don't like a lot of tall buildings, then you will be in the wrong place.

the hotel orange is right beside the SQUAre (where all the British pubs and discos are).
benidorm prices have gone up with the euro - but it's no more expensive here than in other parts of spain - just watch where you shop and you won't get ripped off!!
you will be 5 mins walk from levante beach = although I prefer the little malpas beach beside the old town! you might want to try a walk along there as it's far nicer!!
you have shops and pubs all around the hotel orange. but try walking up to old town to get a bit of a flavour of benidorm!
If you like to go to the movies, no problem. There are 3 multiplex cinemas in the Benidorm region. Cine Colci is in the center of Benidorm. Cine Colci Rincon is in the Rincon de Loix area. Here is always at least one movie in English with Spanish subtitles. IMF 9 is at shopping center La Marina in Finestrat.
We came here during Holly Week (Christian celebration)/Spring break (for students), to get away from the city and routine. when we mentiond to friends we were comming, everyone said we would get bored because Benidorm was for seniors only.
Well, they were all wrong! There were a lot of grea senior citizens as well as families and couples like us, enjoying a wonderful beach side city.
We did not do anything special; just sat on front of the sea to play games, breathe, have long walks on the sand and rest.
But there were also music shows at the hotels, discos for dancing, a theme park, a medieval park and many other activities for those who wanted action.
I personally enjoyes most talking to several seniors fron Scotland and Great Britain, but that is just because I love older people and all their stories. I really admire some of them that have gone through though times and still have the energy and happiness to come and get away to such a beautiful place.
Ohhhh! And don´t let me forget to mention the great (and cheap ) ice cream stores you´ll find all around!
Benidorm is probably not thsi quiet during Summer time.
