More about MONACO
nice hotel,pity about the food
we stayed in this hotel for the first week in November,it's a lovely hotel that has just been recently refurbished to a high standard, the rooms are very big and the beds are really comfortable.the weather when we were there was superb, mid to high 70's all week.the nightlife in Benidorm is excellent with some thing for everyone.a little tip,if you decide to go to the Benidorm Palace,DONT do the 9 euro upgrade,it is a complete rip off, instead go for the standard,44 euro's or better still just the show at 27 euro's it is an excellent night out and i would recommend it,watch out for the couple that perform with what can only be described as lace curtains suspended from the roof, incredible,it's worth seeing the show just for that, then watch the little fella on the tampoline, you've never seen an act like that one, superb.getting back to the hotel, the only downside to it is the food,i'm not a fussy eater, far from it but there wasn't a lot of choice and it wasn't very warm although there are microwaves there but dont let that put you off going there,i found the staff friendly and were willing to help with anything, the bars are nice too and you wont have to wait long before being served,i would use that hotel again and would recommend it.
this must be one of the best hotels in benidorm.BUT the food is cold to warm. when they refill the food trays they mix the food already left with the new food. some times there was a que to cook your own in a microwave. not the sort of thing you expect in a four star hotel. hope this food problem is sorted as we would love to visit the hotel again.ps a restaraunt is only as good as the chef and his staff
Great Hotel .......better than expected!
Took a very last minute holiday and only chose Benidorm because the weather forecast was good. It ended up being a great holiday and the Monaco Hotel made it really special. Read the reviews before we went and was pleasantly surprised with the food.....but maybe we aren't as fussy as some people. The hotel was immaculate, rooms were lovely and quite spacious and it was in a great location. I must admit, though, the sun doesn't stay poolside all day and the water was far too cold for me but that was the only downside. We would definately stay there again.
Great weeks holiday
Just back from a week at this hotel. Hotel is lovely. Good size room, storage space and lovely bathroom. Friendly staff at reception plus all bars. Food choice was good and we never found food cold. Good mix of food each night with the usual excellent choice of salad foods. Found bar staff very friendly who spoke excellent english. Bar man in restaurant was most welcoming and served drinks from the small bar in the restaurant. Five minute walk from the beach. Overall very happy stay at hotel
best hotel we have ever stayed in by far
first time in benidorm and we couldn't have asked for a better hotel. I am a fussy eater but didn't go hungry. Rooms were very spacious with two double beds and the bathroom was a good size. Clean towels every day if needed. Just one bad point the pool was like ice cold could do with being heated, but well woth 4stars . Planning to go back next year.
I would not go back to this hotel
Although the hotel itself was aesthetically pleasing having been refurbished the food was cold and there was not much choice, the air conditioning had been turned off due to the time of year despite it being 26 degrees centigrade outside! and the entertainment was geared towards the Spanish. Despite being all inclusive we ate out on a number of occasions and went out to the bars as the entertainment was so poor!
just got home 14 dec 09 ,from a 3 night break to the sandos monaco , hotel spotless always cleaning around public areas ,rooms are great bathroom huge and lovely .went all inclusive food was good never had a cold meal . plenty of choice . waiter in resturant was very nice so was the waitresses. ok not always smiling but i think that is a spanish thing !!! hotel had a big crowd of spanish women all different ages .we had no problem at all with them they always spoke to the british who were guests , and asked us to join in one night for a dance . drinks at the bar were great for all inclusive you could get pints of lager in glasses not plastic ones also you could get tia maria and bailyes !!! not much entertainment after the spanish had gone home . hotel was not very busy at all ,proberly time of year .?also was in a peaseful area, which was good . and if anyone smokes you can smoke on the balcony of your room . and the is a smoking area outside entertainment room .with tables and chairs .was not a problem .would recomend this hotel . and woul visit again .
one of benidorms better hotels
arrived Sunday 6th dec hotel was full of Spanish holiday makers apparently it was a saints day or something so it was a bit lively. rooms were very good clean and spacious with a fridge, safe and hairdryer. food was very good and plenty of it although did tend to be warm rather than hot. drinks were better than most AIs and you could buy top brands at a discount. on tuesday all the spanish went home which just left about 20 brits till friday when the hoards descended again and livened it up a bit. weather was really nice and warm most days in 70s although only for an hour or two it didn't cloud over till the sat before we went home. hotel is about 10 min gentle stroll to beach and 15mins to old town. on the whole a very good hotel and we would definitely go back if we return to benidorm
great value hotel.
I have just got back from the Monaco Spa hotel after a lovely relaxing weeks stay. It started off very lively because there were a lot of Spanish staying and it was a little noisy but also quite interesting to watch them enjoy their holiday ie they are excellent dancers, even those in their eighties managed to glide round the floor all night. The food was wonderful for me as i eat a meditteranean diet anyway, loads of freshly cooked meat, paella superb. cold meats and salads, king prawns in their shells, cheese and pickles.gherkins,courgettes.pasta.fresh bread and an array of desserts & pastries, lovely pizzas & chips, jacket potatoes veg & also a large selection of fish dishes.. The breakfast was a pleasant suprise egg toms, sausage, mushrooms & lovely bacon etc. Some of the bar staff were a bit glum but i did notice that they did do long hours & were prob tired. however they did make a good cup of tea and delicious baileys coffee. The english day receptionist was very helpful & extremely efficient. The hotel is central for everything and just far enough away for it to be quiet and nice & clean. The toilets bathrooms are all marble and the bedrooms very luxurious with flat screen tv & beds huge. I would love to stay at the monaco again one day & would not hesitate to recommend this hotel . Great value,
Monaco Hotel All inclusive means all inclusive
After a delayed flight from UK it was a great relieve to arrive at the Monaco hotel and very impressed with initial view and cleanliness of hotel.
Our first time away at Xmas but would love to return again due to quality of hotel and room facilities. Rather quiet when we arrived only around 50 guests in complex but the weeks before our trip had been full, we were informed by the reception. Mixture of guests mainly British, more Spanish arrived after Xmas for New Year
I have to say the staff are genuinely, very nice and friendly people. If there are any reports of poor service for this hotel, then in my opinion, they are either out of date or someone was just having a bad day. Everyone I saw was treated very well. Special mention goes to the girls on reception Carmeli, Claire, Lorena and Noemi.
Robert our entertainer was very good, bilingual and kept us entertained although sometimes a tad repetitive, but the all inclusive wine and drinks got over this problem. We are all now hooked on bingo!
The rooms are very large, very up to date and very clean, two double beds, LCD wall mounted tv’s, free fridge and safe and the bathrooms beautifully tiled in marble were immaculate. Unusually there were quality carpets in the hallways which kept down the noise when returning to your room.
Could not use all facilities due to inclement weather on certain days, pool to cold to swim in and outside bar closed, however on a few days we carried drinks from the other bar to drink on terracing by the pool. For December though the weather was good and walking in rain did not trouble us as it was still in 15-20 degrees C. Views of the sea from most of the rooms and good balconies with up market chairs and table on each balcony.
This hotel has not been refurbished as previous reviews, it’s had a total re build and like a brand new hotel and was finished to a very high standard. Food was varied the odd dish being cold but most dishes very acceptable, lovely fruit and yogurts and sweets to die for. All our party found it no problem at all, if food not hot, to put in microwave for a few seconds.
Hats off to all the staff for the Xmas gala dinner, very acceptable and unique with wine and champagne flowing, the seafood was brilliant especially the starter. Considering this was their first attempt, very well done! Pablo and his colleagues were great.
The Monaco in Benidorm, full name is Sandos Monaco Hotel and Spa is an excellent hotel run by great people who work hard so you can relax and have fun. See the Sandos hotel website for more details.
I would highly recommend this hotel to all ages as it was a breath of taste and elegance normally expected from 5* hotels. As with all holidays you get what you pay for, but the Monaco exceeding in all our expectations.
