Soraya and Maria Jesus
by benidormone about Arenas
During the daytime live music for old people. At night drag show with the famous Soraya and accordeon music with Maria Jesus. Strange combination but it seems to work. If you don't understand a word of Spanish it can be boring. Because between dress changes they always tell lots of Spanish jokes. But if you are there for the first time you will enjoy the show. Anything goes.
If you like theme parks...

"I see only 1 reason to visit this ugly town..."
Benidorm. Doesn't it looks a bit as New York? Or as Kuala Lumpur?
I have to admit that the skyline of Benidorm is quite impressive. Beautiful from far away, but far away from beautiful.
Some people like this town, others hate it.
No nature there, no scenery, only high, very high buildings, crowds and lots of noise at night.
However, Benidorm is very popular with elderly North European people who like to hibernate with a mild climate.
If you like the real Spain, then stay away from here, where restaurant waiters talk to you in your own language, even if this language is Dutch.
Just spent 2 days in the area to visit the wonderful Roman Theme Park "Terra Mitica". A must do!
If you visit Terra Mitica at Eastern, the park will be almost deserted. In July and August it is mostly crowded with long queues for the thrill rides. Luckily the park is immence and the Roman and Egyptian decors look wonderfully authentic. There is enough to see and to do without getting bored.
Some passageways are semi-covered to protect the visitors from the sun. White and sand colors are dominating here. Don't forget your sun glasses and suntan oil!
One minus: Most of the shows are pretty boring. Those Spanish actors talk talk talk... while nothing happens. Some shows are even ridiculous. Waiting 30 minutes or more to catch a cold is certainly not worth it...
