Suberb hotel apart from the food

Having visited this hotel in May of last year and not intending to return again, I found that in September 2007, I did indeed travel to the Presidente Hotel as one of a party of nine.
The hotel still has the same very high standards in cleanliness with staff very friendly and helpful and improvements have been made to the air conditioning which now operates very efficiently.
However again the standard of food lets the hotel down. It was well enough cooked but on most occasions it was not at all hot and the choice was very poor for a hotel that otherwise was excellent. After sampling two evening meals we decided to eat out. If using this hotel again I would elect to use it only on a Bed & breakfast basis.

excellent hotel and location. Cant fault the hotel presidente. Book a pool room if possible as apparantly these are the quietest at night time and you can sit on the balcony and enjoy the hotels own entertainment which is by the pool. Maid service everyday and she does a fantastic job. Rooms are spacious and modern. door key is a card which also operates the electricity and air conditoning( if you stick any similar card in the electric slot it will let you keep the air conditioning on while your out!) If you need more than one door key you can ask reception for duplicate.(we found this out our last day!!)Only prob we had was with air conditioning, it didnt seem to be working at all I reported it to the maid and it was fixed by the time we came back from the beach. food is very good and always plenty choices and the staff are constantly topping up the food trays. No queues either at the restaurant which was a nice surprise for a busy hotel. The holidaymakers appear to be split between british and spanish, but the staff all speak good english. We found drinks, pool snacks really cheap. Internet access available in the bar too. (although you would have to fight the kids for a go. 4euros for 30mins) All in all cant think of any negatives for the Presidente. great holiday

Beware rooms ending in .17
by TripAdvisor Member TynewyddExport
Just got back from a 4 night stay at the Presidente. We travelled as a group of 6 couples and were all allocated rooms on the 5th floor. Unfortunately we ended up in room 517 facing north towards 'Jokers'. The rooms given to the 5 other couples were of good size and very clean. Despite our room also being clean it was EXTREMELY small. The two single beds which were pushed together only had one bedside cabinet and you could not open the wall cupboard door without pushing the beds towards the patio doors. The bath was suitable for anyone up to 5 years of age only, and the bathroom was also very small. We went to reception and politely asked if there was any possibility of changing to a room of the same size and standard as our other 5 couples. We were told that the hotel was fully booked for the weekend (we arrived Fri 2nd) and it was not possible to move. I then asked that if it was possible to move on Sat 3rd and for reception to advise us accordingly - they did not come back to us. On saturday we became aware of some people moving out of rooms on the 5th floor of the hotel but still no word from reception. By the afternoon I was very dissappointed with this total lack of response from the hotel reception that I went back to the desk and noticing they were approved to BSI (British Standard Institiute) 9001 quality standard, asked them for a formal complaint form that I could leave with them and also forward on to BSI. What a quick change in their service, they agreed to and confirmed that we would be able to move and we relocated to room 514, just down the corridor from 517, we never received the complaint form! It appears that rooms ending in 17 whether on the 2nd floor or on the top floor are SIGNIFICANTLY smaller than all other rooms in this hotel. I think they are singles which may be used at doubles at times of high occupancy. If you have reserved a double/twin room at the Presidente and are allocated a room ending in 17 at check-in, please do not accept and insist on an alternative. Other than that hotel was fine and we all had a great time in Benidorm.
Very clean-Poor food.

Although we enjoyed our stay, we were very disappointed with the food and ate out for several nights. It was very much the same each day and sometimes a bit cold.
The hotel and rooms are very clean, although the shower was a bit tired and old.
The hotel is ideal if you want to be in the midst of all the nightlife, as you only have to walk over the road to several bars and clubs.
We were on the ground floor, and were woken up around 5-7am as people were leaving bars etc, so i would imagine it would be quite noisy in summer.
We did enjoy our 5 days there, but would probably pick self catering next time as its very cheap to eat out.
clean,good location

Booked this hotel after reading reviews on this site and were not disappointed.Hotel is clean and the staff pleasant. We were there in April and the pool was covered to keep the water heated. Most people go to Benidorm for a good time and the night life , therefore this hotel is in an ideal location. All cabaret clubs within walking( or staggering) distance.Taxi from Alicante airport is 60 euros but ALSA run a direct coach from the airport to Benidorm for 7 euros! The bus stop is number 29/30 outside the terminal.
We will stay at this hotel on our next holiday in Benidorm.
Super Staff But

Super Staff especially Fernando in the restaurant, a one man show. Food unfortuneately is only average with a poor selection but they do have hot plates and a Mr Whippy type Ice Cream Machine. Ideal location as long as you dont mind the noise from late night revellers. Rooms ok , cleaners good.
great hotel but food rubbish
by TripAdvisor Member susieSouthElmsall
The hotel was very nice, we had a lovely big room. The maids did a good job cleaning everyday and clean towels every day.
Only one drawback was the food. There wasnt a lot of choice and the food wasnt very warm either.
Also around the pool there was not enough parasols to get shade, but apart from that we had a good holiday.

CAN ANYBODY TELL ME IF THE HOTEL PRESIDENTE IS WHEELCHAIR FRIENDLY

The hotel website itself does not mention a lift.

Ensuring that you book a ground-floor room might be sensible.
