We just returned from our first family holiday in benidorm ( 30th aug - 13th sept ) and thankfully we picked out the Rio Park Hotel from the Thomson brochure.
Having a 4 yr old child with us we were quite worried as to what the food on offer would be like as you hear a lot of horror stories , thankfully we were very pleased with the selection on offer as for evening meals you get a choice of around 6-8 different main courses with a varied menu every night , you even get as many choices of desserts !!!! all food is fresh and the food trays are changed very often.
We had a family room ( with 3 beds ) and found the room very spacious with large bathroom with shower and bath, also we had a large balcony with 2 seats and a table.
3 bars to choose from (1) poolside , (2)quite cosy bar, (3) large main bar where nightly entertainment is on .
Pool area is very large with plenty of sunbeds available free of charge , also plenty parasols if you find it too hot ( which we did every day around 1pm )
Thomson reps also provide a kids club 5 days out of 7 for age groups 3-5 , 6-8 and 9-12 sometimes twice daily which gives parents a 2 hour break and keeps the kids amused.
Hotel is around 200 metres from the beach and around 50 metres form nightlife yet we were never disturbed by noise throughout the 2 weeks we were there even though we were on the 3rd floor directly above the main bar of the hotel.
We'd recommend the Rio Park Hotel to everyone, young, old, families and singles as the age groups were mixed and if hotel entertainment isnt to your liking there is plenty on offer in surrounding area.
On checking this website along with others b4 we went we were slightly worried with some of the reviews we read , thankfully we now know for ourselves that we neednt have worried and we will be back at the Rio Park next year and who knows....we may even bump into you
If you or anyone with you likes water your not going to be disappointed at the Rio Park, this hotel has the largest hotel pool ive ever seen ( and we looked around most hotels during our holiday !!! )the pool is so large its actually split into 3 pools......(1) kids pool 60-80 cm deep , (2) family pool 140-170 cms deep (ideal for new swimmers or people with no confidence in deep water, (3) large pool 170-225cms deep ....perfect for floating around on a lilo topping up ur tan without worrying about getting splashed by the kids.
Pool and surrounding area are cleaned every day and the place is immaculate.
Room was cleaned every single morning with fresh towels being brought in and loo rolls replaced which can be quite important on a trip abroad lol .Not sure how often bedding was changed , but didnt actually go any further than sleeping on top as we were warm enough.
Air conditioning in rooms is fantastic ....when we first arrived we walked into our room and it was like entering a walk in fridge.....thankfully its easy to adjust and we werte comfortable throughout our stay.
Kids club reps ...( kerrie and Hayley ) they did a fabulous job entertaining our son connor (4) with various activities including face painting, teddybears picnic and chocolate party to name a few.........they make all kids feel welcome and kids are rewarded with prizes for some tasks they perform, making them feel a little grown up .helps that they're very pretty too lol , seems it was always the dads dropping off the kids : ) , THOMSON !!!! give these girls a pay rise now !!!!

In this hotel,you'll find two kinds of rooms,first all rooms included in main building (457) with a small balcony and nice views of the city.All these rooms has new and comfortable furnitures and a full bath room.Sometimes is very hard to find a room in main builiding because the hotel works with Brittish company Thomson Holidays and they fill all these rooms during all year round.
The other new rooms (9) are l located just downstairs in the swimming pool,and they have also air conditioned and a big TV.
The price of new rooms are of 28 Euros by person and day in half board during summer season and full board the rest of year.The hotel offer also some apartments located very close to the hotel,so if you prefer the freedom of an apartment for a few days of a week,then ask in reception desk.
The Rio Park hotel have been closed for refurbrishing from January to April of 2.005.Right now it is completly renovated and it has a new and huge outside terrace beside the main bar,and also all reception area,lounges,bars and the Brittish Bar located in the reception area is all new.Also right now the hotel has TV and fully air conditioned in all hotels rooms.And if you're addicted to VT! then you are lucky if you stay here,there are also a new computers&internet rooms,there are 6 computers and you can check your e-mails and see all your favorite internet websites!.The price is of 50 Euro cents for a 15 minutes connection,1 Euro for half hour and 2 Euros for an hour.Ask in the reception for more information.
NIGHT ENTERTAINMENT,the fun is also guaranted at Rio Park hotel with our weekly night entertainment.
There are KARAOKE two of three times a week ,so if you're a good singer give us a song in our Karaoke!!
STAFF SHOWS: If you never been at Rio Park Hotel before,maybe you'll be a little surprised seeing some members of the hotel staff from dinning room,kitchen,bars,and also the hotel manager José Miralpeix doing some very nice and funny staff shows!!.They are really good and our guests have lots of fun with them,you'll see there:

The Loose Screw Jazz Band,(with Elton Jhon,Abba,Elvis Presley,Shakira and lots more this is my favorite.
