    A Favourite with the Brits

    by

I used to work in this hotel and people came back year after year after year.
Very popular with the Brits as most Uk tour operators go here.
2 bars and a health spa and entertainemt in the evening tahts about it.
Reception staff can be abit funny with you at time and seem unhelpful it depends if you say hello to them in the morning.

Unique Quality: A few facilites the pool area is shared with the other Ambassador hotel. They have a Health Spa but that about it.

Directions: Well know hotel Levante area of Benidorm sign posts on roads.

Organised chaos in the Dining Room

by A TripAdvisor Member

This is our Third visit to this hotel and the food has deteriated very badly we went for a week Half Board came back on the 24th of February 2005 had just one meal in the dining room it was chaos couldn't get a table if you went in a little later there was no food left, or it was cold . last visit to the Pueblo it's a shame because it's in a great spot, and theres nothing wrong with the hotel it's self just budget a bit more for meals out

great roast beef and more

by TripAdvisor Member eholt

we returned to the Barcelo Pueblo after some fours years of stayings elsewhere in Benidorm.
After reading some reviews we was alittle concerned about the hotel,

Upon arraval the hotel have had some changes.

but all our fears were put to rest,
every where was spotless. We had our room not in the main hotel but in one of the four blocks around the pool. beds comfy bathroom compact to say the least but practical
(very very small bath)
plenty of wardrobe space ,television. phone bedside tables with lights.CLEAN.

The bars have been extended good service. reception good service
entertainment bit lacked but ok.
the dining room large clean food very good menu something for everybody
do try the sunday lunch roastbeef and all the trimmings.
dineing room service very good all staff great.
all that remains now is a trip to the diet farm.

hotel good

by A TripAdvisor Member

hotel very clean food was good plenty of choice . the only problem we had was being all incluesive you have to sign for everything which is a ball ache and if you have a late flight home like we did the all incluesive on the day of departure ends at 12 miday which is un fair as we didnt leave for the airport till 17.54 so form 12miday you dont get anything unless you pay for it so in respective you only get 6 day all incluesive because we didnt arrive till late on the first night and the resturant was closed apart from that we had a fantastic holiday

cochroaches, silverfish, food posioning,

by A TripAdvisor Member

we suffered for a whole ten days, first off we had cochroaches in our room, they moved us to a room infested with silverfish, nice veiw. next I fell sick with food posioning after eating in their restuarant, the restuarant served undercooked fish and meat, overcooked frozen vedg, all mushy, the rest of the food and variety was crap, the staff were rude, coudn't get a table sometimes and had to que for half hour to get in, general hygiene was bad, dirty plates, tableclothes. I personally showed the assistant hotel manager most of these problems but it was like water off a ducks back. and the tour operator, well they dont want to know either.
just in case anyone thinks I'm lying I have most of it on video

Very Impressed

by A TripAdvisor Member

We read the latest review dated April 05 and arrived with trepidation.
We couldnt have been more impressed and wondered if the last reviewers had actually stayed at the same hotel.
The cleanliness of the hotel was excellent as was the manner of the staff.
The food was plentiful and of a good standard with loads of choices to choose from.
There was always tables free irrespective of what time you required food, and there was no sign of the half hour queue we expected, maybe a couple of minutes if you were bothered.
Being all-inclusive did incur a signing chit for every transaction but the inconvenience was very slight.
The only problems we encountered were all the air conditioning units were switched off due to the time of season and even though it got quite warm the hotel wouldnt switch them on after being asked too, also we requested an early morning call which didnt materialise but luckily we woke up of our own accord or we could have missed our flight home.
Overall we felt the hotel was very well situated and would definately go back again.

Great holiday hotel

by TripAdvisor Member tinkerbell2

We stayed there with our four year old daughter and none of us wanted to leave.

Food - plenty of variety- sunday roast was lovely. pasta cooked fresh -great desserts even bread and butter pudding and custard - a bit slow collecting dirty plates - quick to take drinks order.

Entertainment - sports during the day for adults and older kids- mini disco, free bingo and professional show each night - not bad Bingo took forever when the numbers had to be said in about four different languages.

Staff - Entertainment staff great in the usual over the top way. Reception really helpful when booking excursions etc . Dining room staff ok - Bar staff very friendly especially with kids- maids friendly.

Location - Perfect for us - right by the outdoor market about 100 metres away - close to shops and bars of the new town.

Rooms - we were not in the main building we were in one of the outside blocks surrounding the pool - really clean - daily maid service - plenty of space for hanging clothes- TV with two English channels - telephone - small balcony - nice big room and bathroom ample space for three.

Excursions - We went to Benidorm pallace - booked through the hotel - walked there for 9.00 taxi back cost 5.00 euros at 1.30. - Excellent show well worth the money 25 euro with out meal kids under 10 - take a cardigan gets cold in there due to air con.
Terra mitica- caught the bus there and back 90cents each - collected voucher from bars that entitled you to 12 euros off price = 21 euros each free for under 5's - great day out rides and shows were excellent. Food inside was not a rip off like english theme parks.

crap

by A TripAdvisor Member

we didnt originally book to go to the barcelo pueblo, we were moved 3 days before we were due to go to the flamingo benidorm. we were told that the barcelo pueblo was better than the other hotel when it wasnt at all. The rooms were pokey and too small and you could hear what the room next door were up to. The bar staff were unfriendly and if you go on all inclusive you can only have how many people are in your room for drinks. The food is all cold and not very good at all. The rooms were clean and cleaned daily by maids but the maids dont knock before they enter the room. The lifts often never came when you pressed the button so we ended up having to walk down 20 flights of stairs (floor 10) At the bar they dont want to serve all inclusive and if they do you have to sign for each drink. The hotel is full of spanish people aswell and when we went there was 3 spanish school trips.
