Calpe has wonderful nightlife.There are many good bars,restuarants to drink.eat in.The ones back abit from the seafront will offer better value for money.Dont stick to chips.Try paella,tapas and sangria and local house wines.Shop at a local supermarket for fresh food and fish.Goto a local market ,each town has one a week.
Drive inland too to see beautiful whitewashed houses set in the hills.Shop at Gata De Gorges for beautiful whickerware.
Goto Denia for trendy clothes shops.Goto a local bakery in Calpe and buy freshly cooked bread and hip expanding cakes.Try all the wines in local taste for free supermarket.Try fresh tuna fish grilled in garlic butter,my fav.

"A tale of many cities"

As a curtain of mountains runs parallel to the sea, descending at times to form cliffs; nothing is as impressive as Penon de Ifach. a rock jutting out from the sea and classified as a nature park today. The Peñon (or rock), joined to the mainland by a narrow isthmus, is one of the most characteristic views of the Costa Blanca. On both sides, there are two small coves with highly recommended beaches.
The Costa Blanca's past is that of any other corner of the Mediterranean. Iberians, Phoenicians and Greeks settled in the ports, founding merchant cities and leaving important naval bases here before they were turned over to Rome.
