estampa salad??
'estampa' in Spanish is a kind of card with a religuious illustration.... LOL, can't imagine a salad made with these!! :)

Estampa or maybe just Stampa salad, what ever it was is is very tasty, mixture of apples, walnuts and roquefort cheese.I surely would have noticed if i was eating some sort of religeous card (i'm not usually that drunk lol).

P.S nice photo

thanks! :)

LOL, I just found the name so funny... no idea about this salad, even it sounds yummy. Anyway, 'stampa' would be not Spanish, could it be an Italian recipe?? (well, it soulds a bit odd name as well... and there should not be roquefort, but gorgonzola ;))

Travel Tips for Calpe

Very Moorish

by rachel_sun

The costa Blanca region was under Moorish rule for about 500 years or more. They introduced better methods of growing veggies and also new veggies including rice and sugar cane and onions etc. They also taught people how to make irragation systems and make great gardens for growing veggies. They are also said to have gave the people the idea for fiestas and fireworks and pottery.
In 1609 Philip 111 made the muslims of the area leave which was arounnd 300,000 people and these people were the key fruit and veggie growers and this was a huge blow to the area at that time.
In the 18th-19th century the region was booming again as citrus fruits and grapes were grown.

Here is Calpe beach next to Calpe Rock nature reserve.
