Travel Tips for Denia
Take your dog out to dinner!!!
by Wendy-H
All restaurants in Spain allow you to take your dog with you! i suppose this is good for local dog lovers (and i do have dogs of my own back in England) but im not sure about sharing a restaurant with dogs!
They are usually well behaved, but personnally i find it a bit off-putting to see a dog watching my every mouthfull! So be careful where you sit!
Olive Oil and Garlic
by rachel_sun
Food in Spain is great as most of it is locally produced and fresh. Its healthy as plenty of olive oil and garlic are used in lots of dishes. The choice of shell fish and fish is extensive and caught locally.Chicken and pork and peppers and onions are used lots too.The fruit used is normally grown locally too.So Spainish food is very healthy indeed. They say moving to Spain can extend your life by upto 10 years as the food and quality of life is so very healthy. Hams and cheeses are also popular and worth buying.Tapas are also very popular. Most places do them.Cafes, bars and restaurants. They are a choice of small snacks on small plates.I found tapas a great way to try several things at once instead of having one big meal.I had one dish which was sausages cut up in a sauce with garlic.I also had a cheese and meat one and a garlic tuna one. They are good also as a light lunch or you can have them as starters if you wish.
Each area of Spain will have its own local specialities of tapas. You may get a tapas free with a drink in some bars.
Denia is pleasant to walk around
by rachel_sun
Denia is layed out well and has some tasteful shops and bars. There is a main road that runs along the coast and has a few but good restuarants and some trendy bars. There is then a road that leaves the seafront and heads inland with a great selection of shops and coffee shops and things such as banks and chemists etc. This street is lined with trees and is nice during the hot summer to sit in one of the trendy bars here and watch the world go by.There are several roundabouts that are kept spotless and there are some beautiful gardens along the seafront with tropical plants etc.You can park on the seafront and just walk along .It does get busy and parking can become hard at times. When it is busy finding a place on the seafront will be very hard.So it's better driving along abit and parking just past the harbour.I have spent hours walking around Denia. So much to see and do.
