Public Transport in Oliva, Spain

My wife and I will be arriving at Valencia airport but will be staying in a Beach Resort in Oliva - a town about 50 miles south of City of Valencia. Is there public transport (bus, train, taxi) going from Valencia to Oliva and back? Are there tours available in Oliva for trips to Alicante or Valencia?

Taxis go everywhere, of course. The nearest railway station to Oliva is at Gandia, about 10km away.

You can find the Valencia>Oliva bus times in English here:

Journey takes around 1h 20m, costs 7.05 euro one-way. Last bus from Valencia leaves at 1900.

Using this site you can also explore whether buses run from Oliva to other places you might want to visit.

You probably are going to the Oliva Nova golf resort. My suggestion would be to take the train to Gandia from the Valencia Nord station, just in the city center.

To get to the city center from the airport you have a metro service ( ther are 2 lines Nº 3 and 5 - both of them will take you to the city center) from the airport. You will have to get off at the Xativa station, which is just a short walking distance from the main railway station in Valencia. You have a service every 30 minutes and the distance is covered in a little less than an hour.

Once in Gandia you have the bus station just at the rear of the train station and there are at least 3 companies going to Oliva, which are Olibus, Alsa and Auto Res. Just find out which when will take you to your resort or somewhere near.

As for the tours from Oliva, you probably might have to plan them on your own. My suggstion would be to visit Valencia for a day and other valid alternatives for this time of the year would be to enjoy the beach towns of Denia, Javea, Benidorm or Alicante, depending on the time that you have. You have a lot to see so you might probably want to research a little bit based on your intersts. Should you need any further help, I would be delighted to do so.

We visited Oliva over Easter and found it to be quite built up and high rise. The old part of the town does show true spanish nature, but the fact that the N332 runs directly through the center of it does cause some issues with noise and polution.

There are a number of restaurants which are very good, Fuegos and Las Rustica were favourites. The only criticism I would have would be that Fuegos were not 100% child friendly in that they wanted us to eat and be gone quite early, which does go against what we found at Las Rustica. The chaps at La Rustica were great and we felt very relaxed there.

The beaches at Oliva are fantastic and there are small rivers that run out at various points, the water quality was amazing
