Clothes change alot in Spanish markets. What you can find one year is not necessarily avaible the next. Its the same with shops. I put it down to containers of stuff coming in from China ...when its gone, its gone and another shipment comes in.

Travel Tips for Torrevieja

Siesta

by Heinisuo

It might be d*mn hot in the middle of the day during the summer. That is why local people are having siesta - and yes, some of them actually do go sleeping for a while. Most of the (smaller) stores are closed from about 12:00 to 16:00 or so.

Siesta is actually a good thing, because you cannot do much of anything in that burning heat. Swimming pool, sea and beach are the best places during that time.

One of the best in the area.......

by barbskie about PINOCCHIO Restaurant

A popular resto in town known to its tasty foods, friendly service and cosy atmosphere. During summer season, they are open everyday.
Opening hours:
18.00-23.00 These are one of my favorites: King Prawns served with champagne sauce
Lenguado with shrimps sauce served with crispy vegetables and cooked potatoes. My husband loves cordero(lamb). Try their duck plate and salmon too, my inlaws said, they're fine. As usual, don't miss their coupes and sorbet . Cortado and carachillo rounds up the evening if not brandy or apple liqour.

Eras de la Sal

by barbskie

A historical monumental complex and jetty built in 1777. It is the town's first landing stage and the old salt storage compound. The salt was transported from Torrevieja Lagoon and stored here ready for export. Today, the area serves as the place for concerts in the summer season. It also holds the annual International Habanersa and Polyphony Contest ,an event that has been declared of International Tourist Interest. The recently-restored landing stage affords an attractive panoramic view of the port.
In the near future it is intended to convert this emblematic site into the home of the Sea and Salt Museum.

Torrevieja, buildings,buildings and superfun!

by Kajron

It's a great place to enjoy themselves! Nice water and sand, even if in this period there are too much people, expecially German and English with some Spanish. I liked the centre of the city in the night, there is a street full of bar and disco where people dance in the road too and it seems carnival anyday. Next to the port, many small shops opened all the night and many games! Famous is discotheque Pacha, where I didn't go. Go to see salinas de San Miguel, quite near. And if you can, avoid to use bike if you are far from the see, 'cause people there don't know what is a bike and many ones drive like a crazy Schumi!
