Living in Rojales

by bjvj8

Having stayed in the area on holiday, I am considering offering on an apartment in the Los Palacios area of Rojales which I understand is close the the nightclubs etc. Does anyone know just how busy this area is in season, should I be worried about trouble and crime? It seems a lovely village but I have only been there out of season so have not got the full picture, if anyone can help me make my mind up it would be greatly appreciated. Judith

during the summer months it does tend to get pretty mad as of the many fiestas. The clubs by los palacios are openall year round but is of course as busiest during the summer months. The clubs are open until early hours of the morning and if your house is near i cna imagen there will be a lot fo noice all throught the night from experience of having been there myself. The crime rate is of course a factor but mainly in the summer as in the winter ther will almost only be locals around.

Travel Tips for Torrevieja

Reyes Magos(Three Kings)

by barbskie

The best loved tradition among kids during Spanish Christmas. Santa Claus is well-known figure but the Three Kings are the stars. There is a traditional Cabalgata procession(Parade of the three Kings) starting fom Playa del Cura, through the famous streets of the town joined by a host of groups, marching bands, dancers and fire actors. The parade, is a delight for young and old alike. and takes more or less 3 hours till reaching Plaza Concepcion (the main square). On arrival, they received letters from local children before entering the church to pay a homage to the baby born Jesus.

Playa Punta Prima

by barbskie

Not far from Torrevieja, a few miles to the south, is a locally known place Punta Prima. Good for those who seeks for tranquility without being isolated. Has fine white sandy beach and all those usual things .
Worth visiting for a pleasant atmosphere

Some good restaurants in Torrevieja

by jmeri

"Pinocchio"

Every time I go to Torrevieja, I like to visit restaurant Pinocchio which is located in Los Frutales. It has german-international kitchen.

"Rancho Blanco"

This old farmhouse is located a few kilometers outside of Torrevieja and it's very popular restaurant. Drive south from Torrevieja and turn right towards San Miguel and when you come to the circle under the highway there's sign to a very small road to the restaurant. This restaurant specializes in meat dishes .

"Patio Andaluz"

Very nice Restaurant few kilometers south from Torrevieja just before Punta Prima -crossing. Live spanish music.
