Euro 2008 Final in Valencia

by halfarisk

Hi,

Luckily I'm going to be in Valenicia this Sunday, does anyone know if the Euro 2008 final is going to be shown on some sort of big screen open to the public in the city.

I'm sure the atmosphere and event will be great experienced in a bar, but a big public gathering could be even better.

Thanks

it will definitely be more than one. i watched the match spain-russia in a big screen in a park called Parque del oeste (Av/ El Cid near the hospital). maybe they'll have it again for the final. all the bars around Mestalla (football stadium) will be crowded with supporters. it's also quite likely that they'll have big screens inside/around the football stadium and/or bullfighting arena. ive also heard about big screens in the parking areas of some shopping centers, etc. i think Mestalla would be the best choice, lots of ppl there.

I had a look at the Valencia town hall but they do not say anything, but I am sure they will do, even little cities like Marbella will ahve one, so no doubt Valencia will ahve it. Ask in the tourist office. Enjoy it!

Travel Tips for Valencia

Fountain in Plaza de la Virgen

by LanaFromRiga

There was a Roman forum in ancient times, now here is the fountain of rivers. The figure of laying man symbolising the river Turia. 8 women symbolising 8 channels that flow from Turia. This place is very beautiful and calm - people sitting and watching the water, listening sounds of water. Relaxing atmosphere!

Orange juice.

by belgianchocolate

Orange juice is a popular drink around here.
No wonder , Valencia is known as orange country.

Valencia is surrounded by ugly apartment
blocks , heavy industry , a lot of motorways
and in between orange trees.

Fresh juice is relative cheap and most of
time served with some sugar. (because the
juice is really sour)

It is best squeezed by hand because a machine
also gets some juice out of the peel.

Denia has lots of great resturants

by rachel_sun

Here i am enjoying a good meal at Denia. The costa blanca has a perfect climate and it is warm all year round. The temp does not usually get lower than about 15c.At Denia harbour, you can catch a ferry to Ibiza and the Canary Islands. You can also do a cruise of the coastline to Calpe.Denia has some great tapas bars and the vergel safari park is just minutes away.

Beaches around Valencia

by DanielF

The urban beach of Valencia is la Malvarrosa, but the coastline of this region is low and sandy, with very long beaches. Some of them are kept in a relatively wild state, like El Saler, others are completely built up, like Alboraia.

by fra76

If get there by plane, this is how the city looks like from the sky.
Otherwise, you can easily get there by bus or by train if you don't have a car. Attention!!! It will be difficult to find a place on a train during las fallas days!
It's not difficult to move around the city by metro or by bus, you won't have problems. But remember, it could be hard to walk in the streets during the days of las fallas, as it's overcrowded, at any hour, at any place in the city. Even going around by car in those days could be a problem, as some areas will be closed to cars.
