Re: airport to hotel

The best coonnection from the Airport to Ausias March is probably by metro, which also depends on the bags you are carrying as the station is not nearby. I suggest you have a look at my Valencia pages which migt help you plan your trip and in any cse if you need any further assistance, please feel free to ask. In any case there a re a lot of interesting things to do in Valencia and in the nearby areas depending on your interests.
Best regards from Valencia

Travel Tips for Valencia

Estacion del Norte - Central railway station

by MaheshSamtani

This is one of the most beautiful modernist constructions that is very well conserved and worth visiting. You might even just come accross this building which is just in the center of the city and right next to the bull fighting arena. This building was built to the design layout by Valenciano architect Demetrio Ribes, between the years 1906 - 1917. The facade of the building is decorated with oranges and orange blossom flowers, whcih are very typical of this part of the country, along with the shield of the city. The foyer, in the interior is decorated with a luxurios combination of wood, marble and local ceramic tiles.

Patatas Bravas con alioli!

by maria_mullah

This is great food, that you can find pretty much everywhere,
most often in bars or "comidas para llevar" (take away restaurants).
It's fried potato wedges with garlic mayonnaise, lovely!!
Quite cheap too! You HAVE to try it!
Perfect after a night out... =)

2008 World Indoor championship -Pabellon LUIS PUIG

by MaheshSamtani

Valencia has been designated the host city for the 2008 WORLD INDOOR ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIOPS. These games will be held at pabellon Luis Puig which is a velodrome on the outskirts of the city and just in front of the trade fair grounds in Benimamet, Valencia.
The velodrome is undergoing a lot of renovations to be able to comfortablly hold 6500 spectators and 2000 active participants, which will be the athletes, journalists and officials. These games will be held between the 7th and 9th of march 2008, just days before the local festivities of fallas. 850 athletes from 170 countries will participate in these games.
These installations have also held other major events on a national, european and world level.

Calle Don Juan de Austria

by Maggies about Lots of them

It's a pedestrian street in the center of Valencia, next to Calle Colon (subway stop - Colon). There are lots of shoe stores on this street and of course Zara, Mango and El Corte Ingles. If you are lucky to catch the sales (July, January) you can get great bargains. In shops like Zara and Mango you can even get 80% off. The only thing you have to worry about is putting all you bought in your suitcase. Not as easy as it seems ;-)

Driving

by Maggies

If you go to Valencia from Barcelona you can take a car, the highway is a bit expensive though. It's almost 400 km between the 2 cities and it took me 2,5 hrs. Oh, and there is absolutelly no police on the way... ;-)
