We are not there for Fallas..we are there from 5th march till 8th..but will anything be going on to look out for??
What are god buys as far as souvenirs??Does not have to be touristy but perhaps a special cheese from area..drink...fragrance.etc??Thankyou!

The best time to be at Valencia is during its local festivals called 'Fallas', its the festival of fire. Its during march, the main attraction of it are the wood and paper sculptures that are made during the whole year and then burnt on the 19th of March. That same month they have fireworks during the day and nite, so it becomes quite noisy and colorful too. That is for me the Image of Valencia.

The biggest festival in Valencia, Las fallas is held each year in March and is one of Spain's most noisy and raucous fiestas with fireworks and processions in honour of St Joseph. A parade of Valencian women dressed in traditional costume come to the cathedral square to offer flowers to the city's patron saint, La Virgen de las Desamparados. These flowers are used to create an impresive sculpure, which watches over the square until the fiesta ends.
Valencia has been home to the world premier presentation of the MP4/22 Mercedes McLaren offical car. With the spectacular background of the city of sciences specially decorated for the event and applauded by a very huge group of formula 1 fans from all parts of the world. The selected date was the 15th of January. The event ended with a private part of personalities from all walks of life which unfortunately was limited to just a 1000 guests and only by invitation.
Traditionally, these stalls were occupied by sellers of pottery and other tools for cooking. They still sell this kind of stuff, but some of them are a bit more tourist oriented. There are also some stalls that offer tapas and refreshments.
