Reasonably priced hotel near Avenida del Saler

by annemariebyrne

Hi, I'm looking for a reasonably priced hotel near the Ciutat de la Justicia (within about 10 mins walking). I'll be visiting for 5 days in October, most of the hotels I've tried are either booked out already or are very expensive. Just wondered if anyone has local or insider info that I'm missing as I don't know the area at all and would appreciate your tips. Many thanks, Anne Marie

Hi,
if abt 100 EUR per night is reasonable try Hotel Neptune, new, clean, with a fantastic buffet for brekfast, on the beach, well served with bus and tramway, near oceanografico and concert hall and the harbour.

Travel Tips for Valencia

Orange blossom coast

by rachel_sun

There are oranges everywhere in north costa blanca. The pic below is the beautiful villa we rented at Calpe. The scenery here was breath-taking.Calpe has a beautiful beach and a promanade with lots of nice bars and restarants.
We had many a good meal down on the waterfront.

Orxchata, Buñuelos and Churros

by angidesign

Orxchata (else known as Horchata) is a drink made from almonds with a very special taste. You have to try it to decide wether you like it or not. Very nice as well are the sweet Buñuelos and Churros. I love them! Buñuelos served with sugar are my favorite, but churros with chocolate is not bad either (they serve mainly as sweet breakfast). BUT: you cannot eat too many of them because they are to fat....

In the wintertime..

the weather can be a little unpredictable. It ranged from cold and wet to sunny and hot, so bring a little of everything. Waterproof and your umbrella A great camera is needed here for the amazing views.

The gardens of Turia

by Edu_G

The old river of Turia crossed the city for centuries. In the fifties there were floods and the water covered the city. Because of that, the river path was changed out of the city, and now we have a park and gardens in the old river bed. Go for a walk or ride a bicycle accross it, if you can. Inside the park there are sport fields, the Palau de la Musica (Music Palace, a concert hall) and very funny for the children: there is a giant Gulliver sculpture with ropes and slides so that the kids can play in it. You can see this in the picture (it is hard to figure out the body but in the center there is a leg, and a giant's hand on the left)

Beautiful Building of the Railway Station

by doreenellen

If you arrive by train, from the beautiful Railway Station in central Valencia, rail links to a number of Spanish and European cities. The FGV stations (local railways and Metro) provide connections to a number of surrounding towns.
