I have been many times to Valencia (as tourist and for business) and can't remember seeing berets for sale....
As said above, berets are typical from the Basque country, even berets were popular in most rural areas of Spain.
The typical period clothing from Valencia, that's still used on festivals, does not include a beret, but a kind of bandana for men, and elaborated hair styles for ladies, as you can see in this photo:

Don't buy fruit in the supermarket!

by maria_mullah

Do as the spaniards do - buy your fruit and vegetables in
the local "frutería". Cheaper than in the supermarkets and
of a better quality and taste!
Note: The fruterías often have siesta in the afternoons, so
make your purchases in the morning or evening.

Albufera Natural Park

by chbuchie

Just a few kilometres south of Valencia you'll find peace and quiet in this natural park, where you can enjoy a boat trip on a rather big lake and a great sunset

Although I prefer organising all my trips on my own, here due to time constraints we jumped on the 'touristic bus' which included the boat trip for 12€
and this was definitely worth it

In 1986/1990 it was respectively declared a national park/bird sanctuary
About a third of all Spanish rice is produced here.
Also the village of El Palmar is a must do and has plenty of nice restaurants, with peppered eels with garlic as the specialty

Poet Querol Street

by DanielF

This street leads from the Peace street to the cross between Painter Sorolla Street and Boats street. It is lined with luxury boutiques of international firms. Among them you will find the main outlet of the famous china figures maker "Lladró". The head quarters and the factory are in Valencia. Their delicate porcelain figures are a bit kitsch in my opinion, but they seem to be extremely popular with excentric collectionist from many countries, particularly the USA and Japan. They would pay a fortune for some of these figures.
