There are just two parking places to unload the car. The parking is possible in the street which rises to the castle or better, for payment, in the private garage situated in a lane at 100 m from the hotel.
The majority of the customers come from Madrid. This hotel is generally complete especially on the weekends.
It is best avoiding weekends and holidays in Chinchon because it is very difficult to reach the centre and consequently the Parador by car.
The staff of the reception was not of the very friendly kind and was little gifted for languages others than Castilian.
The architectural beauty and the decoration of the hotel compensate widely for this weakness of the reception.
This Parador is an important very well restored ancient memorial (convent of San Agustín build around 1626). The enjoyment of this hotel lies in a set of green terraces which in the back come down towards a valley dominated by the ruins of the fort of Chinchon. On one of these terraces is a swimming pool.
The wooden monumental stair which leads to the upper floor impresses by the ceiling covered with frescoes. At the level of the landing an ancient chapel reminds the first office of this historic building. Le Parador est situé à quelques dizaines de mètres de l'entrée de la Plaza Mayor dans un magnifique couvent du XVIIe dont l'église est encore en activité.
Il y a juste deux places de stationnement pour décharger la voiture. Le parking peut se faire dans la rue qui monte au château ou mieux, moyennant paiement, dans le garage privé situé dans une petite rue à moins de 100 m du Parador.
La grande majorité des clients vient de Madrid. Cet hôtel affiche généralement complet surtout les week-ends. Il faut éviter les week-ends et jours de fête à Chinchon. Il est très difficile d'atteindre le centre et par conséquent le Parador en voiture.
Le personnel de la réception n'était pas du genre très accueillant et était peu doué pour les langues autres que le Castillan.
La beauté architecturale et le décor compensent largement cette faiblesse de l'accueil.
C'est un monument historique important (couvent de San Agustín construit vers 1626) très bien restauré qui invite à la méditation, au plaisir et au calme. L'agrément de ce Parador réside dans un ensemble de terrasses verdoyantes qui à l'arrière descendent vers un vallon dominé par les ruines du château fort de Chinchon.
L'escalier monumental en bois qui conduit à l'étage impressionne par le plafond recouvert de fresques. A hauteur du palier une ancienne chapelle rappelle la fonction première de ce bâtiment historique.
