Tapas!
by xstacey
The Tapas, which go perfect with wine (vin blanco was choice!), are usually lined up on top of what resembles an American deli counter or are right on the bar. The sampling is a great way to experiment with all the different foods.
I discovered that you would pay when you were finished and you would tell the server or bartender how many tapas you had and they would charge accordingly. Don't scarff down too many though, at a couple euros each more than a few can add up quickly.
Atletico Madrid
by luke850
Atletico Madrid are the 'other' football team in Madrid, but are a top European club in their own right. Their stadium, the Vicente Calderon, has the 28th largest capacity in Europe, seating 57,500 people. Here you can watch Atletico take on other sides in La Liga, including Real Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia. You are probably more likely to get a ticket to an Atletico match than a Real match.

Casa Patas - Flamenco!
by jamiesno about Casa Patas
Casa Patas is a great night spot not far from the Peurta Del Sol. The Flamenco is amazing and very authentic. The performers are very good and equally as dramatic and I witnessed in Sevilla. This is a small night club atmosphere where the performers are right next to you. Be warned that if you are from North America where smoking is virtually banned, in Casa Patas and most Spanish night clubs there will be lots of smoke!! Get used to it because it is not worth missing the great Flamenco over it!
But I should stress again in this tip I guess that this is not touristy flamenco, this is very popular authentic flamenco with lots of local people there. Casual
