Time of year to visit Madrid

by mrsdeano

Hello; I am trying to plan a high school graduation trip for my neice with my husband and myself. She would like to go to Spain and we are interested in Madrid and surrounding areas. What would the weather be like the first full week of April (3-12)? How about June 19-28th?

Thanks for your help!

I visited Madrid in Aseptember and the weather was great --- but then you know how weather patterns cahnge A LOT around the world! That is why I am a fan of websites that give weather patterns for a particular place for the past few years --- and weather underground is one of them at http://www.wunderground.com/tripplanner/index.asp

Just type in the weeks you're looking at to visit, and voila! You have your temps and climate info...Hope this helps, Norman :)

Pinchos and tapas everywhere!

by zumodemango

One of the things that can be enjoyed in Madrid is pinchos and tapas. PINCHOS are normally a slice of bread with something(in the picture tortilla de patata with confited onion, mmmmmmmmmm), salmon and salad, gulas, foie with strawberry jam, iberian ham , duck with avocado........
... and TAPAS is a dish with, for instance, potatoes, octopus, cheese, scamble eggs with asparrags(esparragos trigueros), sepia, stuffed peppers, pimientos de padrón, albondigas(meat balls), croquetas....

La Casa Encendida

by Urzu

La Casa Encendida is a social work project. It offers a great deal of exhibitions of different types, such as art, music, or cinema cycles. Also you can find many different work shops that can be very interesting... if you're staying in Madrid for a longer period of time! In any case it's a place that's worth visiting for its interesting exhibitions, which are in many cases free entrance.
Only one thing, the area where the Casa Encendida is in, is famous for its drug dealing... it's not the safest place in Madrid at night, so be careful! During the day it should be perfectly ok to be around the area, so don't let this put you off!
