Cafes rules
by ruki
I was very wonder when I was in one restaurant in Madrid and when waiter belt everything from the table on the floor when we sit down after one couple.
In Madrid cafes is tradition that all stumps, used napkins....pelt on the floor. As much you have garbage on the floor your cafe will be more successful and popular. It was very interesting but the floor was full of garbage and it didn't look fine at all.

On Sunday mornings.
Now is more a flea market, but I remember when I was a child to come here, and see the most incredible old things being sold here. Like in Carboot sales...
Still if you go off the main street, you can find some little streets with the old charm, but prices lol are not so good!!!

Shopping in Salamanca
by mollymoo0oo0 about .....*:..*..:*.....
The area of Salamanca is the zone for serious shoppers in the centre of Madrid. (Note, this is not to be confused with the city of Salamanca, located several kilometres outside of Madrid!)
The main shopping streets are Calle Goya, Calle Velazquez, Calle Serrano.... (and so the metro stations are Goya, Velazquez, Serrano - all Line 4)
In Goya you will find the main high street names and a variety of clothing shops for men, women and children, as well as the big Spanish department store - El Corte Inglés.
