Romantic Spain!

"Theres so much to see and do"

Theres no other place like it ! Our Basic Idea is to take in all of the highlights- that means touring in a rental car.. Starting in Catalonia.. Go north towards the town of ViC and stay at the Gov'nt run Parador there! its beautiful and tranquil- then cut through on the hwy to the 10th century towns and the town of Figurees - the home of salvador dali....make sure to see the Dali Museum!! visit the near by coves and beaches Along the coastline!.. seeing every thing in barcelona I can write pages about.. mainly the Gaudi Hotel & Museum are great! the Cathedrals (gaudis-sagra familia) and the 10th C cathedral are impressive, so is the opera house! stay on the outskirts and take the subway in...cheaper & safer....Ok then go towards Monserret, I've never seen anything like it! wow! very well worth the drive!! stay at the hotel there! 80 E per night! then ...try the city of Tarrragona... totally historic ! with remenants of old city walls built over the original Circuis maximus the romans built in the 1st cent BC! the chathedral there within the walls is very well worth walking into see -a nd the good restaraunts nearby. drive across the provence of LaMancha- imagine DOn Qioute out there on the plains...arrive at the first capital of Spain,,, 'Toe' la' Do" (toledo) this palce will blow you away! see the ancient town from across the river high a top the hill, sit at the veranda in the parador...with a drink, and watch the sunset,, its amazing ! stay at the Cardinals palace( near the north gate) walk 100 yrds toward the main st.. and find MR Angels wine bar.. he's a super friendly guy(rick steves says so too) walk back to the most beautiful cathedral in europe.. get your entry tickets in the shop across the st (south entrance) and be there early(morning) you'll be mesmerized! walk all over town trought the medevil streets(2 days would be a nice stay) drive to Nerga(on the coast ) have a beer with a britt!, stay at the paradore and over look the beautiful med sea! stop over to ronda, and view the neat gorge the the town is built around- see spains first bull fighting ring! dont forget to stop at the Alahambra in Granada ! its a crowded - scary place.. stay in secure P garage .. stay near the entrance piazza to the palace.. dont miss this experience! Seville ...kinda the same way.. watch ur stuff stay in the latin quarter near the cathedral, the restaraunts are outstanding , the city is charming , having a flamenco experience-- is a once in a life time.. wow. stay at the hotel Amaudeus! fun! the museums are well worth it - go to the exposition sector and see them! careful in madrid! the squares are populated with theives.. dont linger in the plaza del sol- once your away from the cab/subway entrance you should be ok... see the Prato! and the muse up the street.. the gardens are great at the prato too!! even McDonalds has gaurds...across the st. the south side of the Plaza Mayor (must see) is the oldest restaraunt in spain (1740s) they have great traditional meals ( i dint like the young pig) theres more to see and do - but too risky for me- nad the rest of spain was too wonderful! there's window busting theives in segovia- great for a day trip (avilia too) but stay by the car. the roman acuduct in segovia is a marvel !! so are the walls of Avilia. i found Anadulusia to be the finest part of the trip.. and also found barcelona to be very exciting- just travel with the right people..long car trips lead to spats...hahaa
