A surprise for the kids
Keeping kids happy is difficult at the best of times, never mind when you yourself wants to see the sites. Its not much but a quick visit to Antigua Estacion de Atocha could cheer them up a little. You will find hundreds of terrapins (I guess!) swimming around in the garden pool.
Dulces de Espania
Dulces is a general name for all sweets that come after dinner, but not only. Dulces are also go good with desayuno (breakfast), lunch, parties, and traditional fiestas (and there are many of them in Spain).
KM 0, Plaza del Sol
At the ground of the Casa de Correos, at Plaza del Sol, you an find this tinny sign.
This is the KM 0 of Spain, from here all distances of Roads are calculated and the numbers of the streets
People expect a bigger sign and I have to say that it needs a little reparations, as some areas the paint is even not visible.
The Bear and the Strawberry Tree
The Bear and the Strawberry Tree symbolises the emblem of Madrid. You find the statue at the northern end of the Puerta del Sol just in front of the pedestrianised shopping zone.
