If you use the Google search engine, you normally can click on (Translate This Page), and the page will translate, at least partially, lol, to English. Gary

it cost 2 €
not the best botanic garden in the world, small and a bit decadent but I love going there now and then for its bonsais' collection (a donation from the former Spanish president Felipe González, it looks this guy used to garden bonsais while ruling the country)

Fishing at Juan Carlos I Park

by SirRichard

If you are really fond of fishing and don't wanna go out the city, try at the lakes of the Juan Carlos I Park. The water is not crystal clear, but there are some fishes around, visitors feed them with bread, so they are BIG!!!
To get there, take the Metro towards the airport and stop in the previous stop (Campo de las Naciones)

CHUECA

by tzuki about Trendy areas

The Plaza of Chueca and the streets around are one of the most picturesque areas in Madrid. Some time ago this area was one of the poorest and marginal spots of the city center, however, in the 80´s, a movement called "La movida" passed like a hurricane through the Chueca district and dramatically changed culminating it with the arrival of the gay community. This circumstance happened at the same time of the design factor and most of the buildings are being rebuilt inside keeping the facades as it used to be.
Also is the place for most of the trendy lounge bars, shops, restaurants and more.
Today it is Madrid´s symbol of freedom and social revindication, and an example of harmonious community life and tolerance. As you fancy
