by sheriff84
Hi..I will be flying into madrid airport next month, I will be going to almendralejo. I was looking for some advice on the best way to travel there. I have found information on the metro into madrid, it is from madrid centre then to my destination. If anyone can offer some advice I would appreciate it.

Buses from Madrid to Almendralejo are run by Auto Res and leave from Estacion Sur de Autobuses, Metro: Mendez Alvaro.

From the airport, catch the Metro line 8 (pink) to Nuevos Ministerios, then transfer to line 6 (grey) to Mendez Alvaro. Metro is easy to navigate. Map:

Get prepared for sightseeing and enjoy

I want repeat many useful tips you may find all over the Internet about Madrid and things too see there. After all, what you're looking for may not coincede with what I saw/liked, so I suggest searching for you favourite vacation themes.
One thing is certain, there are people from all over the world you may meet in Madrid, and I highly recommend meeting some. Just relax, be open, and enjoy the worldwide spirit.
They don't call it RETIRO Park for nothing!
by morgane1692
Allow plenty of time for a long, meandering walk through this oasis in the big, hot, mean, bad city. In the middle of all that strolling and wandering though, take a few pauses, observe your surroundings. This is the real Madrid. One of them, anyway.

Old Madrid maps
by SirRichard about Culture
In Cuesta de Moyano, a little street between Atocha Station and the Retiro park (Metro Atocha) you can find some old Madrid maps and engravures that could make an original souvenir.
Better on sunday mornings, when all the stands are open.
